Pre-match: Moving on to Anzac Day - all comments here...
Am i the only one who thinks we owe Essendon an absolute hiding this week?! They fixed us up last year in both games, mostly due to us being way too slow in the midfield, along with injuries to our main players.
This year its payback. When Lloyd did his Hammy on Sunday i heard a lot of Collingwood supporters suggest that it was disappointing because we want no excuses from Essendon when we thrash them. I disagree, i say lets hope heard does his Hammy aswell. Afterall thats exactly what happened to us last year when they belted us.
Im confident this week, not only will we beat Essendon, we will put on a display worthy of a top 4 position. Essendons backline is really going to struggle to contain our forwards, Buckley, judging from last years 5 goals against them will probably go forward aswell. Rocca, taz n Fraz will crush them!

I would be bringing back Scott Burns if he is fit. It should be a pretty tough contest...we want our toughest bloke there. Tough but i would be resting Heath Shaw who made a few skill errors. Burns is better than Shaw at the moment.
Otherwise i dont see any other changes other than the possibility of playing Presti and dropping Wakelin who got touched up by Sav. However, without Lloyd, the dons do not have a very tall forward line. Lucas is too versatile for someone like Presti. We may throw someone like Maxwell onto him again.
Lovett is the worry. We have trouble taking smallish forwards like him. Lockyer will most likely be given the job here.
Bradley played forward last week. I doubt he will again given the potency of our forward line. Id assume Sheedy will throw down the gauntlett to him again. They lack tall defenders desperately. Hille is a worry for us. Richards must be tight with him around the ground. Wakes may take him if he pushes forward.
I think we match up well. Midfields are both considered to be weaknesses, however have stood up early this year. Will be a good test for us.

Simple fact is, Essendon is not rated to be a top 8 side. We are full strenth and rolling, if we are to be a realistic finals chance this year we should annihilate them like we did the Roos.
Pies by 30 points, with Rocca and Tarrant dominating and Trav doing the defensive job on Hill when he goes into attack.

We can't keep accepting excuses like that, I agree with Tess in that Collingwood has a culture that tolerates excuses and under-performance far too much.
Either we win, or we're average.

This game will make the ANZAC Day Mascacre look like a picnic....
In the past these games have been close,BUT I recon with LLoyd out and others out, then the PIES will remain in 4th position on the ladder.

The big problem is who do we let go to fit Burns & Presti back in the side. After the last couple of years this is an awesome feeling that all 22 in our side deserve to be there & are all contributing.
We know Burns is fit & ready to go after another good game for Willi who will we leave out? And if Presti has recovered from his 'injury' then who else will miss???
Tuff Job & gotta feel sorry for the ones who do miss out....

In their games so far, Essendon have been beaten but not broken by anyone. They have fought it right out to the end. If we can break them the same way we did to hawthorn and the roos it will be a great pointer to the rest of the year. I'd love to really rub it in but I'll settle for a good hard fought contest that we win.

I wontt really be happy with anything under a 5 goal win. Yes i know its a massive day, but we really should be belting them if we think we're a top 4 chance. These are the teams we have to bury. It will probably be close in the first half, but we should run over them.
If we lose, I will be MIGHTY disappointed, although i cant see it happening the way our list looks atm.

This is an absolute must win. For us to show the football world we are a serious contender and also for our confidence and pride.
We owe them big time, lloyd or no lloyd i will give it to any essendon supporter I come across if we beat them (which will be many as i live in essendon and walk past Windy hill on the way home from the station ), it's payback time.
