I say get excited :) Our formline is very strong. If not for one poor last quarter we would be 3-0

We now have a platform to build on for the rest of the season and have plenty of competition for spots in the team. Burns, Presti, Rusling amongst others available if and when required during season.

Once Rusling returns the final piece in the puzzle re our forward line will be complete. People may start to sit up and take notce.

Good test this week.

Great win today! No doubt the delivery into the forward line is what will make or break our season. If the service is even reasonable, we will win most games, and if its spot on as today, we will continue to destroy teams. The back line was very solid and the forwards were sensational! The Midfield worked very hard today and provided great delivery to our forwards which gave them every chance!
Huge game on ANZAC day and its time to reverse the tide of us losing to them! We are fit, healthy and more importanantly firing!

Yeh it was a great win, oh by the way thanks for the pics Nuxta. Bucks is a true champion, and also Maxwell as always. Tarrant played really well today, and also Swan. O'brien he is really fast, and i say to next week keep the team as today for Anzac Day. Look foward to Tuesday, we have to win next week without Lloyd we should. Our last Anzac win was 02.

I'm taking "notce" already.

Grammer or grammar, loved Joffa. Great sight.

What about: "
"Malthouse thumbs nose at talk of Tarrant yips" in the paper last week?

As Homer would say - Har haaaaaaaaaaar.

We are in the Top 4. Now let's stay there.

BTW. Great photos in this thread. Thanx and keep it up.

What a day, what a game, what a team effort.

You would have to be hard pressed to find a negitive in today's performance.

The signs have been all positive since November last year.

Pies are on the move people.

Today we played like we did in 03 rebounding out of defence.I thought I was at the Rip Curl Pro the amount of waves of players coming down the ground. We hunted in packs instead of being the hunted.

What an enjoyable game to watch after our pain over the last few years :D

I was really impressed in the by the way we fought back in the second quarter when the Kangaroos had kicked three goals to draw level and take the momentum... we responded to go in four goals up at half-time.

They kicked another few goals together in the third quarter but once again we responded quickly and kicked away. A great sign for our team's development that we can do more than string a few goals together in one quarter then try and defend that lead for the rest of the match. Very heartening.

There were so many good players today... absolutely brilliant.

I was also impressed with the improved games of Harry O'Brien and Tarkyn Lockyer. Both underperformed last week and Harry was lucky to remain in the side, but wow did they play well today. Lockyer was very good at setting up the play on the wing (often in a pressure situation), finding the player who could then go on in attack. Harry good work ethic was complimented today with accurate disposals, and on a few occasions solid strength to push off an opponent (he is well built in the upper body for a second year player).

The only player I thought struggled today was Travis Cloke.

Anyways... well done to everyone, and to Joffa and the Cheersquad for the great run-thru banner and the gold jacket/sign.

Bring on the Bombers and Carlton!!!

Ben :)

feel sorry for the roos. they recruited to stay above water - not for the future.

can't see them surviving a dark age. they could be done with.

as for us - we lost our first real test, we really need to step up against a decent team and on a big ocassion.

A win on ANZAC day will setup a very big season for the magpies.

brilliant game

taz on fire, keep it up and he will be a dual AA forward!!!

concerned with maxy at the start as he was caught a couple of time trying to do too much, but came home super strong!!

harry looks like a great prospect, still needs to learn how to spoil instead of giving away frees but could have a major find!!

swan, b.jonhson, lonie, didak......the blokes that we have wanted to develop look like they are.....if they can keep it up we will be in good shape

still plenty of room for improvement from fraser & richards as the season progresses.....some of richards tap work today was brilliant

players fighting for positions with

burns, presti, r.shaw, rusling, c.cloke, rowe, davies, egan, the crab fighting for positions in the squad whom played today, some good depth finally
my bum is on the swedish

I was wrong, I said we'd win by 6 unless Sav kicked 6. We won by 12 and Sav kicked 6! some sort of twisted maths in there.
So many players pushing for selection, but who to drop? We should give Willi players who star opportunities whenever possible (eg Davies next week), to help keep them up to speed with the big time and also to keep the squad fresher throughout the season, especially very young and veteran players - this would be great preparation for the finals. WE have the luxury of keeping Burns ticking over and fresh in Willi until he is needed, with maybe 1/3 to 1/2 his games 1sts when he is fit - he wouldn't like it but perfect prep for finals where he'd be a huge weapon.
Good to see the killer instinct there - hasn't been for a couple of years - ie when you got em on the ropes really put them away. I feel for the Roos but that's what you have to do.
