Pre-match: Pies v North - all comments here...

Whith North having a taller Forward line who should come in and who should be dropped?

Wakes would have to come back in (for H.O'Brien who was beaten by Dixon but did alot of good things aswell ,though someone will have to make way) you would think as S.Rocca is a likely inclusion so they will have Thompson, Sav and Hale as there 3 talls. Burns would also be a likely starter and C.Cloke in for Richards as we need some 1 who is less vunerable around the ground.

Licca has had 2 indifferent games so he might be the 1 that makes way for Burnsy , after H.Shaws good performance he deserves his spot.
Also Lockyer has been patchy good 1 quarter missing the next but he has been great doing the 1%'ers so he could also bein danger of losing his spot for Morrisson who has shown good form in the willy side.I doubt MM will make all these changes though has he looks to get the side gelling as a team.

IMO:

IN -Wakelin , Burns , C.Cloke

OUT- H.O'brien , Liccuria , Richards

I reckon Pies by 4 goals

Questions are, who will play on Sav Rocca? I'd say Presti.

Secondly, who is North going to put on Anthony Rocca? Last year i'm pretty sure he already had 4 goals by the second quarter before he did his ankle. He is not easy to match up on for the roos. My guess is that Hay will come good and play on him.

Tarrant also plays well against the roos, expect him to fire if Carey can teach him how to kick, also well done on teaching Rocca how to kick though :D

Pies should win this one, if we have Buckley floating across half back, Benny johnson straightening us up through the middle, and Licca, Brodie, Fraz, Cheesy and co winning it out of the centre we should deal with the roos easily, who will be keen to get back on the winners list after a fair belting last week against the Cats.

I dont think Richards should be dropped. I know his work around the ground needs alittle work, but i was impressed with his rick work against hawthorn.

I agree I've been on him keep Galloping Guy in and bring in Brent Hall for Thompson and Walker on the wing to replace lockyer.

I'm glad we agree. That input matched my default category.

Presti on Sav
Wakes on Thommo
Maxwell on Corey Jones
Johnno on Harvey
Clement on Petire when he goes forward
Lockyer/Burns on Harding

Assume Jon Hay gets first crack at Pebbles
Watt start on Tarrant
Brown on Cloke
Gibson on Didak
Pratt/Perry on Thomas

Wells v Lonie
Buckley v Firrito
Grant v Holland
Simpson v Licuria
Swan v Brady Rawlings
Harris v O'Bree

Hale v Fraser

At a glance anyway

I think Lica is carrying some sort of injury, Because he didn't look fit against the Hawks. Will Burns come straight back into the side after missing last week?
Wakes should be back nonetheless.

Presti on Rocca
Wakes on Thompson
Lockyer on Jones
Clement on Harvey
Maxwell on Petrie
Johnson on Harding

^Clement will play on their most dangerous small forward (Harvey). Don't underestimate Maxwell, He can beat Petrie.

Pebbles kicked something like six goals on Hay in the practise match earlier this year.

I'd like to see Harry stay in the team so the changes are....

Out: Licca (inj), Tarkyn
In: Burns, Wakes.

Walker lol, isn;t he playing 2nds for willy!!

n e ways i think its gonna be won and lost in the middle, the roos have a very good up and comming "extractor" in Harris, i think holland has to play on him and as with mitchell if we curb his clearences we will be half way to winning.

Rocca loves the roos, will be interesting to see who plays on him, i suggest they start with hay, but im thinking brown will end up on him. If the praccy match is anything to go by the pies should win confortably, i say pies by 27 points.

nah harry was a bit dissapointing....one of jason cloke or wakelin must be included this week.

Id say Sav Rocca will play, he hasnt played a game yet in 06...but against Collingwood, id dare say laidley would include him

Id like to see Clement play on possibly Corey Jones, which means it may be a possibility for both Wakelin and Cloke to play.

We should be a good match defensively for the roo's as their forward line is not overly quick.

Presti will play on Thompson...but if Rocca plays will take Sav
Maxwell vs Petrie will be a great matchup...Nick will have his hands full

I doubt Lonie will take wells....lockyer or Holland will do this job...im hoping Holland gets the first role. If Rhyce Shaw was available, he would be the perfect matchup for him. The other must be responsible for brent harvey...that is a huge job and we need a good small accountable player on him.

Licuria vs Simpson...simpson is in top nick in his opening 2 rounds. He is over his foot problems and is racking up huge stats. Licuria is a perfect match for him

Shannon Grant Looms as the worry here. Ben Johnson is a possibility, as is Lonie. Last year, woewoedin did a fantastic job on Grant, until he was moved off him and Obree picked him up. Grant kicked 2 crucial goals to steal the game in the last quarter. Its hard to find a really good opponent for him. I think that if Licuria does not take Simpson, he will play on Grant. Its a real toss up, because simpson gets more of it, but Grant is way more effective. Buckley may go head to head with SImpson, leaving Licca to take on Grant.

If we take Grant and Harvey out of it, we will win comfortably. Clement should rule out Corey Jones. Leigh Harding is a big matchup...possibly Lonie could be given a shot here, although i think Harding could be more versatile. If O'Brien is included, we could give him a shot, otherwise Ben Johnson could be the go.
There's more to life than footy.........just not much more.

They won't drop Licuria.......

The only change IMO may be Burns in for Harry...depending what was wrong with Burnsy's 'Illness'.
Archer started in the middle in the first encounter with North last year and kicked and/or was part of the first 3 goals from memory-if Burn's is fit -he's in.

Richards actually performed very well with his center square work on Monday and he kept his feet...(.barring the Didak over kick when he was in the Center Half Forward region.) Cam will be in the following week if Richards stuffs up on Monday...good to see pressure for postions.

They'll retain Heath Shaw.. his kicking was A-1 and he got up pronto after being bumped to the shithouse....a good sign...and typical of a Shaw.
