If Burns plays, which he should.I think MM would only give him about 70% game time.If he is on and off the bench during the game,it will be interesting to see how MM use him?

In Burns, Caracella and Harry.
Thanks Stui.

Harry for two defenders is fair enough, but:

(a) I don't like to see C1 dropped so early even though it is probably just a match-up issue.

(b) Caracella is a must later in the year, but by bringing him in instead of a runner (e.g. H. Shaw), it means a player from among Didak, Davis and Thomas needs to spend time in middle to relieve the midfield. Of course, we want them in the middle as outside runners, but all three of them are too slight to play in the clinches (although Davis has shown signs of being able to do that). Caracella needs to make his way into the side, but after seeing the team run out of legs last week, I would've gone with Heater. Time for Davis to step up to the plate then.

I forgot to mention Burnsy. I guess they're expecting him to shoulder some midfield load as well, and therefore they went with Caracella. That's fair enough, but we know how slow the midfield can look with all our '02 and '03 mids playing together. Still Heater for mind, although his form is unknown at this stage.

Before we bag Egan too much for not putting in on Monday night-he threw up three times during the second quarter and was looking mighty wonky after that. I think he can be excused for his perfomance after the middle of the second quarter.

B. Johnson S. Presti J. Clement
R. Lonie N. Maxwell T. Lockyer

P. Licuria S. O'Bree L. Davis

D. Thomas A. Rocca S. Burns
N. Buckley C. Tarrant J. Fraser

G. Richards B. Holland A. Didak

D. Swan
T. Cloke
B. Caracella
H. O'Brien

I like the look of this team, Our forwardline didn't click last week, Cara is great at drifting forward into space then kicking a gaol, Burns is another who can kick them... looking forward to tommorow!

Also I like the Holland Didak idea at the bounce, one negator, one attacker, O'Bree named in the centre to get the ball. xclnt. Now just need to hope that Richards has ironed out the kinks and shaken off the cobwebs!

forward line looks OK but the middle of the ground looks like it could get belted. Is Clement in or out?

It would be great if we had a few blokes who could deliver the ball to it.

Having a look at the hawks defence, they are in real trouble down back. I would think roughead may have to shoulder a defensive role. They really only have 1 tall defender. Croad may even be forced to go into the backline. I think that is Malthouse's thinking in regards to dropping 2 defenders. That really only leaves the hawks with williams and dixon up forward, with everitt dropping forward.

If we atleast break even in the middle, we should win with a forward line that potent.

Lonie, Didak, Caracella and O'Brian can all deliver allright, and of course Bucks and Burns will both play through the middle as well and thier delivery is just fine. Thomas will also probably get moved around a bit and he can deliver as well.

Favourites, are you laughing out of glee? or don't you think they will line up like that? Burns often playes on a half forward flank, he and Thomas will try to crumb the ball brought down by Rocca at CHF, Tarrant and Bucks can lead up the ground, leaving Fraser one out in the goal square, its an excelent set up if we can afford it, by which I mean if we can hold our own in the midfield without Fraser, Bucks and Burns.

Richards may suprise some people tommorow, he can play, tommorow may be the day he goes out and proves it. Licca, O'Bree, Holland, Davis and Didak are the five blokes named to stand around Guy and shark the ball, thats Dids and Davis right there where people keep asking them to be!

I wouldn't take too much notice of where the boys line up on paper. Why would Mick tell the Dawks how we're lining up?
