malthouse is been very speculative as well saying that the team he names tonight may be nothing like what lines up on thursday. He said that he is able to totally change the team and will not know on the availability of clement and didak until sunday. Im sure both are fine and malthouse is merely playing mind games

Personally I think our biggest issue again will be midfield options and another quick defender to improve run off HB and give us another option for Williams.

As such in order of importance I would be looking at

Burns
Heath
Davies

If Didak is injured obviously going to need Cara.

My tip is pies by 8 goals, for no other reason than we are at least an 8 goal better team than the hawks.

Here is the team as listed on the CFC site.

STARTING 18 AS NAMED:

B. Johnson S. Presti J. Clement
R. Lonie N. Maxwell T. Lockyer

P. Licuria S. O'Bree L. Davis

D. Thomas A. Rocca S. Burns
N. Buckley C. Tarrant J. Fraser

G. Richards B. Holland A. Didak

INTERCHANGE FROM:

D. Swan
S. Wakelin
J. Cloke
T. Cloke
B. Caracella
H. O'Brien
H. Shaw

My feeling is that MM will be unlikely to change too much.
He bangs on about playing a consistant lineup all the time.
We didn't lose by much and the rusty players where the main culprits.
Egan is dropped and rightly so.
Burns had somthing like 40 touched at Willi and is a 'walk up start'.
Swan had 30+ touches, why drop him?
Wakelin was OK, we need him game fit, why drop him?
Clement has been named in the 18, he will almost certaintly play.
The two Clokes are under pressure from O'Brian (Jase) and Cara (Trav).
But I would think you back these boys for another game.

So I reckon Burns in, Egan out.

... The thing I like most about the side named? Thomas in the starting 18!
If he can back it up this Sunday, I will be very happy.

GO PIES!
go pies!

I'd be happy with just the one change. Egan out, Burns in. Naturally if Clement or Didak are out due to injuries (which I doubt will happen), then we'd need to bring in O'Brien and/or Carracella.

I would hope nothing is wrong with them; someone reported Clemo as having trained only for 20 mins, Didak I have no idea what could be wrong with him but it might explain the lack of manning up last Monday! :(

On the extended bench the Pies have named:

(a) Swan - Walk up start

(b) Wakelin - He's either fit or he's not. If fit, he's a walk up start.

(c) J.Cloke - Ahead of C3 on fitness and deserves another game, but at risk of losing his place to O'Brien if he doesn't perform.

(d) T.Cloke - If Richards holds together, we don't need another tall except to replace the ageing Wakes at CHB.

(e) O'Brien - Replacement for Clemo or Wakes if either fails to start. Replacement for C1 if he doesn't perform over the next couple of weeks.

(f) Caracella - If fit, he's a walk up start IF we need a small forward. Replacement for Davis, Thomas or Didak pending form and fitness.

(g) H.Shaw - If we need another runner, and we definitely do against the Hacks, he's the pick of the youngsters.

Assuming everyone is fit, I'd go with Swan, Wakelin, J.Cloke and H.Shaw. If either Clemo or Wakes doesn't pull up, then O'Brien gets the call up. If both don't pull up, then C3 also gets a call up - to CHB.

like the look of the ins

burns & cara can be played both up forward & on the ball, both know how to hit a target too!!

playing cara may mean didak gets more time in the middle, please let this be true!!!

harry o down back is a better choice against hawthorn then wakes as hawks, (like adelaide) dont have really big forwards, more athlete types!!

if clemo plays we are in good shape for de hawks

ink in J.Fraser for BOG
my bum is on the swedish
