Our forwards can beat their backs, our backs can beat their forwards, and our mids can constrict their mids, but:
1. Can our rucks at least break even and give us first use of the ball?
2. Can we generate enough run, creativity and quality disposal (from the back half through the middle) to give our forwards enough scoring opportunities?
If we can do these things we'll take them out. I expect nothing less than a maniacal attack on the ball for starters, and the rest can flow from there.

I'd like to see a couple more of the new midfielders in there to add more speed and fire to the midfield - that team looks a bit too much like 03.AFL_Record wrote:They always used to name the squads Thursday afternoons, And The Footy Show will announce them on Thursday night.
The game itself should be a cracker. Both teams are vying for spots in the finals, So we will see a lot of passion out their on and even off the field. Every Collingwood supporter who lives in Melbourne should go, Because if you don't, You will miss watching football at its highest order.
My Team,
FB: Tarkyn Lockyer ~ Simon Prestigiacomo ~ Nick Maxwell
HB: Ben Johnson ~ Shane Wakelin ~ James Clement
C: Jason Cloke ~ Nathan Buckley ~ Shane O'Bree
HF: Chris Tarrant ~ Travis Cloke ~ Alan Didak
FF: Leon Davies ~ Anthony Rocca ~ Blake Caracella
R: Josh Fraser ~ Paul Licuria ~ Scott Burns
I: Dale Thomas ~ Cameron Cloke ~ Brodie Holland ~ Dane Swan
EMG: Ben Davies ~ Ryan Lonie ~ Guy Richards
But I don't suppose many of them are really ready yet.
Still there is Thomas who I hope they play, Buckley; Didak and Leon in new midfiled roles, Johnno, Maxwell and Swan, and Obee in good form so there's a fair bit of speed and class there to keep Crow's hands full - from now on teams will be trying to contain our midfield as much as we are theirs (I hope), and that's the offensive sort of mindset our blokes need to have. But that seems to be what they are being instilled with, playing with flair and attack which is great. Looking good and Crows might get a shock.
But I wouldn't be disappointed to see any of our other young mids picked.

I think that's a little harsh. We may have a full list, but there is still some gelling to do over time. How many games has C3 played with Pebbles in the forward line?woe_is_me wrote:If we don't win this game on Monday we can forget about finals....
I'm serious, we have a full list to choose from, at home, we have NO excuses.
Pies by 25 points.
The season is a marathon, not a sprint. I don't recall Sydney sprinting out of the blocks last year.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

I understand that, but we have to make hay while the sun shines. We must benefit from having no injuries, we are up for this one make no mistake about it, that's why I say we must win. I know that the season has 22 games, I would love to be proved wrong about the finals if we do lose this one - but only time will tell!!!

I'm expecting a win woe-is-me!!... but don't panic if we lose!
Let's not forget that our powerhouse key position forward hasn't played footy since RD4 last year, our captain was limited for the majority of the season & our #1 ruck didn't string many together in 2005.
We may struggle to find touch & gel in the opening few rounds??
Add to that the fact our opponents finished on top of the ladder at the conclusion of the 2005 H&A series & were runners up in the NOB cup so i guess they are up & running!!
Still, i'm confident of a comfortable victory Monday night in front of a vocal Magpie ARMY!!!... GO PIES!!!
