I dont mean as in its good because its our home ground or anything i just mean because of the crowd behind us, they have to travel, farmiliar surroundings ect. Basically we are a better chance at the TD than AAMI...eddiesmith wrote:The TD is not good for us, we have a poor record especially against Interstate sides there recently. Only wins I can remember are Brisbane in 02 and Port last yearad4eva wrote:As i am an optimist at the start of the season i would love to say we can win...
On recent form, Adelaide however i dont think they have an outstanding team and are overated IMO...
The Telstra Dome could be a major factor...
Pre match - Pies v. Crows.

Agree with almost all you said J26. If we can get our fair share of the ball in the midfield we have a better foward line than theirs. Now Fraz is back and Dids is not injured we can put them under great pressure and open them up. Still we have to win that ball! Take a look at the game of last year. You might say they have improved as a team , well I don't see us having gone backwards. Should be a cracker of a game.Johnson#26 wrote:Looking forward to this one, should be a ripper.
The midfield is where they may have edge, although we won't go down without a fight.
We have the motivation for a win (a 100+ point drubbing last time we met, round 21 2005, AAMI Stadium). Kill 'em, Collingwood!

A win here would really kick start our season. Our forward line will have a tough battle against their monstorous defence - Rutten, Bock, Bassett and Torney are four of the best (and more underrated) in the caper. Tarrant, Rocca, Fraser, T.Cloke, Buckley, Caracella, Thomas and possibly Didak will be used to stretch their back half.[quote]
that would be the case, except that Bock & Torney both wont be playing according to the adelaide injury list
Adelaide wont be able to hold our forwards, bomb it in long and Rocca should do very well

Yeah, if Riccuto goes forward i would think Jimmie Clement will be the man to take him, maxwell on Hentchel, Presti on Perrie, IMO we have them pretty well covered up there... Where to for wakes??? Floating across half back or taking mcgregor if swung forward...killer wrote:I read in the paper today, that riccutio will playing foward, due to what i gathered was a alck of fitness,
and mgregor will be moved down back,
i think with ricutio up foward that will ease the pressure on our midfield, and im confident our defence will be bale to handle him nicely,
Where to for C1??? interesting one not sure will have to see how they line up but regardless i would play C1, even on the wing...

G'day team
I've just joined Nicks after perving at the site for the last couple of years from Sydney.
By nature I'm a pessimist, but if you're ever going to be an optimist, it's before the first game of the season. For the first time in years, i left the pub before the end of a Pies match watching that shambles of game last year when we lost by 100pts +.
Usually, we're pretty competitive against this mob and with a decent side to select from, I reckon we can do it again in front of a partisan Monday night crowd hanging out for a Pies win. Pies by 17pts
