Welcome back Guy Richards
Just got home - watched the whole game at Ainslee Football Club.
The Pies were great - will i single out the negatives - first - yep ok.
Tarqs - if that was a real game - Mick would have switched much earlier. Tarqs got smashed. Jonno should have been moved there in the 2nd quarter.
Didak got smashed. Brodie was poor. And i think his game last week was overrated with some undisciplined monets.
Tarrant (in particular) and Davis were outstanding. Josh awesome. Guy Richards, after a poor first quarter, was tremendous. Awesome to see Guy Richards run a game out and overcome 2 impressive Freo ruckman.
Lonie played 4 quarters and one of his better efforts - no noticable shirking.
The kids turned the ball over a lot under pressure but will learn from the tape. Maxwell again massive game, Jason Cloke again impressive, Presti sensational as always. Thomas looked s*** hot, Stanley and Heath Shaw good, O'Brien - how big is he!!
All in all no injuries (big relief for that effort at Subiaco) - and Guy Richards progressed.
Well done Pies - great effort. We would have smashed Geelong.
Bring on the Crows!!

Overall happy with out performence. Happy with the Tank (Thomas the Tank...) and Cutter (Stanley) did some classy things and not so classy things.
Maj played well and that 9'er was awsome - and so was Canna's.
Not impressed with Stretch Richards and Brent Hall - but there's room for improvement.
If the side was at full strength a different result may have eventuated.
I gotta say that if the umps don't know the pyjama rules and there is alot to worry about. The rushed 3-pointer that wasn't and the marking the ball backwards and playing on out of bounds. All crucial and need I go on becuause there may have been more.

Cant say Im not dissapointed, But I just cant help it haha.
Did a great job with the young list, I think freo must be in need of money cos they had a full strength side in
Maxwell impressed again, I think he will be a HUGE improver this year, Thomas showed promise.
Kicking into 50 is still my no.1 concern, and also Foward options.
Is Taz our full foward or what? He needs a big game for confidence
Brodie Holland also is a worry, Hasnt looked good last 2 weeks. Wont put his head over the ball and pick it up clean. Hope to see some improvement.
Very exited for the real season, With a full List I think we will be in the 8 ATLEAST.
Any word on Licca yet?

was very impressed with Thomas, Stanley and Leon Davis.
very worried about Licuria's ankle, anyone know anything?
Jason Cloke playing another great game,
he nowseems to be loose man all over the ground, not just down back.
Thought Morrison looked pretty good, again.
Iles did a couple of nice things too.
Cox not much opportunity, seemed keen.
Hall not sighted, his one stat was about a minute before the final siren.
Richards still seems a fair way off to me.
Lots of good signs, very exciting, IMHO
Bucks
Burns
Rocca
Caracella
Clement
are in our best 18, and,
R.Shaw
C.Cloke
Egan
are probably in our best 22,
That has to bode pretty well for the future!
GO PIES in 06!

Great game.
Agree with most posts so far except those regarding Tarrant. Delist him.
Bravo Dale Thomas. What a fantastic new talent. Leon Davies looks like he might deliver this year. And his brother.
Travis Cloke is a marvellous player and when the side settles. so will he.
Fraser, Jonno. Tarkz etc etc the usual suspects put in a darn good game and it wasn't over till it was over.
Pies are going somewhere this year and the direction is UP!
Good hit out. Hope Licuria survived.

Tarrant played a corker and will improve ten folds come season proper.
Disposal in general needs a little work and will come.
Lighten up would you, Great game from the pies, with a lot of positives to take from it.
Fremantle played their near full strength side on their home ground against an inexperienced Collingwood line-up and won by 16 points!
The Dockers should be concerned, not us.
A lot to look forward to.

At this stage in the pre-season I'm more concerned about individual performances than the result. Overall, there were more positives than negaiteves. I think we all know by now that Thomas is going to make it as a player. He's got great ball handling abilities and disposal. That mark and goal was almost the highlight of the match. The other first year players - Stanley and Iles - looked really good too.
Other performances that I liked were: C1, Davis, Tarrant, O'Bree, Lonie, Fraser and Morrison. Morrison cops a lot of stick, but he's always around and about to get a handball away. You have to remember that he was injured for most of last year.
I was really dissappointed with Richards, Hall and Didak. Richards has got a long way to go to get back I think. It wasn't just that Sandilands was too big, but his other efforts around the ground were very poor. As for Hall, well he's just not up to it. The 2002 and 2003 drafts are going to go down as the worst drafts of our history. It really has set us back a couple of years. Didak needs to play more consistent footy.
Bring on Round 1. Bucks, Rocca, Burnsy, Clement, C2 and Cara back, then trim the bench by four. It's starting to look like a pretty good side. We can play finals this year.
