I'd love TC to get a crack at Pavlich. He has the body for it.

More youngsters hopefully to get a game

Cup teams expand in heat
The Courier Mail: 03mar06

THE AFL will expand the interchange benches for Sunday's NAB Cup quarter-final between Fremantle and Collingwood at Perth's Subiaco Oval.

The forecast is for temperatures in the mid-30s and the teams will be allowed two extra men apiece on the bench, bringing the total for each team to eight.

The half-time will also be extended by five minutes.

With an 8 man bench that means the whole team listed will play!
Will be great to see Iles, Cox, Stanley, O'Brian, Heath, Thomas(again) and Hall have a run.
go pies!

OUr midfield stocks looked a lot healthier last week than in 05, I thought the midfielders played with a lot more solidness and confidence knowing that they are now part of a genuine squadron of speedy mids. Midfield thinness was what caused the 100 point embarrassment last year. Sure the young mids, and ones coming back from injuries, were a bit rusty but will continue to rapidly improve starting this week, as will Davis and Didak.
Also our forward line should be a lot more dangerous this week for the Aints run. I didn't actually think Freo looked that great last week, it was more WC having a training run rather than a game.
Ok Freo may win due to engine room power but it won't be by more than 6 goals, and I give us almost even money to get up.
Personally I would be inclined to rest Licca and maybe Obee for this one, although it might take away some of that confidence of the younger players that I was talking about, and that is something that should be built on right now.

woops... two will have to be dropped from the squad of 28 to get an extended bench team of 26, I predict it will be Stanley and Iles left unused this week cos we need a gaolkicker to replace Cara and Egan (Cox), and Heath and O'Brian are futher advanced than the two youngsters (and of course Wakes will play)
go pies!

Apparently on Perth radio today that Rocca and Headland have been omitted...

I am quietly confident about this game...I just want a good showing, if we are to lose I dont think it will be a shellacking
