What the hell does Cheesy have to do for people to get off his case. He was absolutely sensational. Covered lots of ground, mopped up and linked very well. Overall his disposal was to advantage of the players up the ground. Easily in our best players!GreekLunatic wrote:i thought thomas for a first game did well also egan did some great things but too me it seems he isnt that hard also one thing i noticed obree hasnt improved his kicking also rocca will be good for the run

That was how I saw it to Bazdaddy. Got a couple of goals late which made his performance seem better than it actually was.bazdaddy wrote:Riewoldt BOG your kiddin arnt ya maxwell towelled him up in the second half.i_luv_licca wrote:They said on the AFL website that Riewoldt was the BOG with 18 disposals, 10 marks and 3 goals, but Licca had 35 disposals and 2 goals and was everywhere!
I thought Ben Davies did well

Very good to start with a win and some very good signs from playersnot so highly thought of - C1 showed how hungry, tough and hard it he can be and he certainly was BOG.
Anyone that doubts the Duck's influence at Pieland should have noted that when Pebbles missed the shot from about 30 out - the Duck immediately said that he would show Pebbles the video as he kicked with his leg bent. The Duck will be worth his weight in gold to the Pies forwards.
C3 is an unbelievable talent and Dids showed that he has the 'engine' to run in the midfield now and boy will that make some sides very afraid - and rightly so.
My highlight was Josh - he struggled early on but gradually found the ball and showed why he can be such a damaging forward.
Daisy will be excellent as in his first game he did the 1 pre centers.
Overall a very good game and next week if we can get within 4 goals of Freo we will be primed for the start of the real season.

63 tackles is bloody great too see! Couldn't get there Sunday I walked in at 4:30am . Good to see J.Cloke carving it up, well done to Thomas for his first game. Welcome back Josh, Galloping Guy and Rocca. I hope we go over and slap around those purple pretenders a bit. And remember people this is the year of the Drop Scone (D.Swan). Well done to Licca slamming home two.

Think a little bit laterally. C1 was sensational today (apart from 1-2 disposal errors but he wasn't Robinson Curusoe there) with his attach on the ball, linkage with others, and marking. Showed that he can create options in the make up of the team. Maxy, Clement and C1 can all play a variety of positions and are not merely defenders.Johnson#26 wrote:He was excellent, and you make a good point - selection will prove a challenge.Dale61 wrote:JClo, BOG in my opinion, and once moved on to Reiwoldt, pretty much kept him quiet. Don't know if he'll fit our scheme once Wakes and Clemo get on the ground, so he could be fighting for a spot in the 22 with Maxie.

The positives: The tackle count, Thomas, Egan, Travis, Jason, Davies all doing well. Josh starring, Rooca, Taz, Guy getting through the game. Swan and Leon showing a bit. Licca and Dutchy going flat out like it was a September final.
The negatives: Kicking for goal, poor disposal, their midfield getting right on top for a while once Licca and Dutchy had tired. Tex, Lones, Crab.

That's not the only thing that's not edited, I believe all I could say in the majority of the 4th quater was f*** and I can't F***** handle this. Wow, I really think I was more deprived of footy than I realised I was so much more stressed out than I can remember being at the footy in a long time. How exciting, how did we pull it off? I'm still asking myself.Proud Pies wrote:i've logged the pies chat from this afternoon's game. if anyone wants it posted on here and wants to read it, let me know, otherwise, i might just send it to you. It's not edited.

It was a good result. Especially sitting in a pub in St Kilda. Didn't they (the St Kilda supporters in the pub) cheer that free kick to Gehrig in the dying seconds of normal time. And didn't we (the few outnumbered Collingwood supporters in the pub) cheer even louder when he shanked it.
And that goal to Joshie, at the end, was sublime.
I should have roused myself from my hangover and gone. That will teach me.
