pretty good signs from all the clokes but especially Jason.
Didak, leon and tarks look good.

dale thomas was encouraging. I think rocca will get better with some more practice.

I see our specialist forward coach isn't being used to teach goal kicking!

Pebbles seems to have lost some distance in his kicks. Lonie's effort from a set shot from 40 was abysmal.

In the second quarter, Roids got the ball with nothing but a paddock in front of him. He runs, takes a bounce, runs a little bit more, then kicks to a 2 on 1 contest, resulting in a turn over.

Dale Thomas..... well, the less said the better, but should be better for the experience.

JClo, BOG in my opinion, and once moved on to Reiwoldt, pretty much kept him quiet. Don't know if he'll fit our scheme once Wakes and Clemo get on the ground, so he could be fighting for a spot in the 22 with Maxie.

All in all, a gutsy effort, and thank f**k for Licca and Dutchy.

Great to get a win under the belt as the cliche goes.

Licca, O'Bree, Jason our best

great effort by J. Clo.

Dutchy gave his all. Frase lifted and got going, great to see him back and doing well, Ant very rusty but good to see him get through a game. Davies good early as was Ego. Thomas showed there is plenty there to work with, is going to be exciting to watch him develop.

Dids showed a bit of class at various times, Neon got going after a slow start and some of his disposal was beautiful to watch. Hope Guy pulled up okay didn't see much of it.

Travis looked alright at CHB at times. Thought Swan did some good work.
Carra started slow as did the Crab. Locks got better as the game went on. Cam good early but faded. Roids did okay but disposal still often lets him down. Lonie kicked a supa but didn't do much else. Taz a bit rusty as was Maxy although he linked up pretty well at times.

Tex, hmmm back to Willy for you son.

Put Bux, Burns, Wakes and Clem in that side and we've reason enough to be optimistic I reckon.

Next week over in woop woop will be tough though, prefer we didn't risk the vets and went with the kids, I'd consider bringing Heater, O'Brien, Anthony and Iles with Tex, Lones, Crab & ? out.

After Ant's injury it is not unusual for the kicking to be effected (distance, accuracy or both) and sometimes a change in kicking action is required to compensate.

it wouldnt only be the injury, its just simply a lack of game time in the last 12 months, and its always hard to catch up with the pressure around, the pace around, it certainly takes some getting use to...

The midfield and kicking for goal remain our 2 biggest (and unfixed) problems.

Im still not sold on ego.

Looks flash but just blazes away anywhere within 50 metres of the goal. Sometimes thats fair enough but most of the time with him its just laziness.

There were two today that could have been a lot closer instead of OOF. Needs more disclipine.

Thomas was good for a first game in his rookie year and not having plyed at this level before in any sense. He'll be fine.

didak was the most exciting for me. Shows we have a genuine footy brain with pace and skill once bucks goes.

When Didak punched the ball to Licuria (i think it was) infront of goal, it showed he really did have a smart head on his shoulders... (Not to say i didnt think he did before)

Plenty to take out of that game.

At the end of the day we beat a side who was at their best and is a favourite for the GF. Equally, we beat them with plenty of areas to improve on. The obvious being the decision making and the foot skills. And its not just a few. I could count 10 blokes who made really poor skills errors under no pressure. We really should have been 7 goals up at the half.

The good stuff was the hunger and attack on the footy. Clokes, particularly JC, played very well. Thomas looked ok to me. He aint scared and he aint afraid to chase.

Not sure how Obrien, H.Shaw, Clement, Wakelin fit into the back half. The mids should be better for R.Shaw, Bucks and Burns coming in.
