Cause he is not as a midfielder. He is bottom aged and already 190cm. By the time he is right to play he will be 19-20 yrs old and 193-4 cm.

He represented his school in those four years (Catholic College Sale) in the grand final of the country section of the HS shield and was voted best afield in the school's 2004 victory despite not playing regularly during the season.

Welcome to the Collingwood football club, our next Centre Half Back.

I think they should give this guy number 42.

He is the next Darren Milliane.
Now EddieGoldenShower you are surely taking the piss?
First of all different people have different growth spurts. At the very most he will grow 3 or 4 cms and that is very rare. Bowman Nixon was a CHF at 189/190cm in the TAC but still ended his career at 190cm he never grew.

I think he is del santo ish in the evasive type moves, side steps ppl way too easy and turns loads blindly alot, finds space from it though without breaking ppl open with leg speed(unlike thomas who is mega quick and super sleek quick hands and foot skills)... doesnt have a right foot at all, his left foot is good but it will get better.. massive upside and i dont think he is a tough/insider but a reciever/semi outsider and will always be running into space... going to be good give him a chance,

#10 Scott Pendlebury

Post by Culprit »

"Collingwood's prized draftee Scott Pendlebury is recovering from glandular fever. Pendlebury, who was taken by the Magpies at pick five in the national draft, missed the club's opening training session and time trials last Friday.

He developed glandular fever before Christmas and is expected to return to Olympic Park today for examinations by club doctors".

From realfooty

Never knew he was ill. Good to hear he will be back at training.

Glandular Fever can take 6 to 12 months to properly get over and can reoccur or come back when a young person is put under the physical pressure of intense AFL training. One of my mates was in bed for about 6 months with it.

All the best Scott.

Yeah but you blokes weren't asked to break your balls at AFL speed fitness every second day while recovering. It is the extra effort that hurts the system once you suffer the first time.

Some versions of it are milder than others but it is difficult to work out what level of GF you have while you have it.

Good luck Scott.

GF is a vetry debilitating disease and as stated previuosly it is one step away from CF (Chronic Fatigue).

The most disappointing fact about it is that conventional medicine can only detect it - but has no real way of fighting it.

The normal MD's will say that as it is a Viral Infection we just have to let your body get over it.

One of my daughters is an elite junior golfer as we thought there was something wrong Jan. 2005 so we had the blood tests and sure enough GF was present - what was the fix - no idea.

We then started with a naturopath who did different blood tests and pin pointed all the exact problems - mainly with dietary intake.

She began a program and is now stronger than she has ever been - but it will take at least 12 months for this to pass.

It is a real eye opener to how bad our natural vitamin intake has become due to all the preservatives etc., that are now in almost all the foods we eat.

We are really hurting ourselves quite badly and that is why GF is becoming an almost normal occurence in teenage elite sports people.

I still remember Scott Russell before and after GF - and he never recovered as he got it at around 26.

Pendels is very lucky that it has been detected and he is still young enough to fight it.

I do know the number of a very good naturopath if the club needs it.

Luckily, our club is about as professional as they come, so I'm sure they will provide the lad with the best available treatment and rehab. If it takes 12 months, then so be it. Some mild cases can be overcome i9n a few weeks, so it's the luck of the draw. Knowing our luck...no we won't go there! On the bright side, I recall Rhyce Shaw saying a couple of years back that before he got GF he was not particularly fast, but after recovering from it he found that he was a lot quicker than he'd ever been - go figure?
