To say we need some quality midfielders is a understatement.
I do not expect that we will get draft picks that will star in the first year. But hope we draft players with footy sense and not just on there athletic ability. Would be great if we drafted midfielders of the skill that will need to be tagged.
Licuria has to be trade bait. (He wont Micks love child) Hope Woey is tradeable(I doubt he be of much worth) There are plenty more that need to be seriously considered for delisting and trading. Don't even get me started on how bad a pick up Chad Morrison was.
Does anyone know the maximum amount of players we can draft?
Glad to see the form of O'Brien again. He would have to be a part of the senior squad next season.
Only one more painful game to go this season

I think the only positive is Ben Davies continues to rack up touches and looks like a real midfield option. In my opinion he is ahead of Rowe. O'Bree, woey, Holland, licca, bucks all tried but there was no one penatrating and no talls to kick to. I agonisingly watched the full match and it was very tough. I think Clement held Welsh well once more. Welsh is really Clements bitch. Unfortunately Welsh got 3 goals which were not clements fault really but he was no were near the ball mostly.
There's more to life than footy.........just not much more.

Blimey there is always 2006 and onwards.
I have supported the PIES since 1965,I have seen them go UP and I have seen them go DOWN....BUT Ihave stuck with them thru the good and the bad...this is the BAD times,BUT just think that around the corner is a PREMIERSHIP so all you knockers....and I was one once...get off the band wagon.....either support the team OR rack off and lets now worry about the last 21 games and concentrate on 2006.
There is always a FLAG at the end of the rainbow.
There are a lot of up and coming great players on the list...in particular I saw young O'Brien play a great game last week, with him & Leon and a couple of others WHO want to play in the Black & White....I recon that we will be a force so give them all a go.
My god......!
I'm agreeing with Peter!

Hoggy, if you read my post I stated that Clement Buckley Maxwell and Holland were fantastic. The others were good or showed promise. To see first hand, the amount of work the top 4 had to do with the most of our team still on L plates, or injured, or just past their used by date.hoggy wrote:We got done by 110 points FFS. How many players can we have in our best?fan4collingwood wrote:Fanning and Davies have shown a lot of promise, Heath Shaw and C1 were good today. Clement, Buckley,Maxwell, Holland, all fantastic in a very ordinary side. I think Wakes is carrying a Driver injury, with the treatment I saw him getting.
Clement and Holland were the only ones with heart yesterday, is it any wonder they will go 1 and 2 in the b&f?
I am surprised that the top 4 could even walk to the bus to get to the airport!

The crow cheer girls showed more guts I sat 3 rows back from the pies race and some of those blokes did'nt look liked they tried.
To say we had a young side in is crap we still had players with grand final or finals expierience with likes of the following...
buckley
wakelin
presti
j cloke
holland
obree
licuria
clement
lokan
woewodin
morrison
swan
davis thats well over half theres got to be more happening behind the scenes bar injuries. Maybe the boys did'nt read the banner when they ran out.

We are beyond the need to rebuild, we need to go out and buy a brand new f#$%^g engine.
Heart and soul players they may be but, we need a brand new midfield and it aint going to arrive overnight via PP's.
Developing they might be but, we could sure use an experienced and genuine tap ruckman (Fraze is great around the ground but, he can't win a hit out for sh1te).
Honest triers they might be but, the same old hacks are just holding us back, time to clean at least most of em out. (I'm torkin Woey, Lonie, O'Bree, Tarks, Chad, Jase and a few others that must certainly be gone already like Lokan and Williams).
The midfield is by far the biggest issue and players like Dane Swan and Heath Shaw are not the answer, they look to have a future elsewhere on the ground but, we immediately need some genuine 'A grade' midfield talent.
Thow the house on getting Bartells and/or Power and draft Ellis/Murphy/Varcoe, whichever you can get your hands on.

F*ck off.
Got to love the negativity around here, damn hell lighten up, I did about 12 weeks ago and since then couldnt give a shit when it appeared the players definately didnt. The last qtr against the Dees showed this season was a joke and I treated it as such
The fact everyone can come on here and whinge after every damn loss like they expected a win is funny.
The fact you cant even joke about tanking and draft picks show you need to lighten up

If anyone seriously thinks players don't tank, they should watch that game again! Watching one crows player jog through 4 Collingwood players that simply watched him do it just confirmed to me that players don't always go out to win!
No matter how many injuries you have, it does not excuse the fact that we didn't even put in single efforts, let alone second efforts!
And also in terms of the lop sided umpiring, well that corresponded with the lop sided effort and that's what happens when you are 5th, 6th and 7th to the ball rather than 1st!

Being demoralised is what causes you to look that bad ... players do NOT tank. Absolutely no doubt whatsover ... NONE.spoljar wrote:If anyone seriously thinks players don't tank, they should watch that game again! The club and everyone knows that the AFL has put us in a position where we are better off losing and so get the PP. The players however, just go out to try and win every game.

Not the answer, but more then handy players. Swan, in particular, will be a solid backman. The midfield is by far the biggest issue and players like Dane Swan and Heath Shaw are not the answer, they look to have a future elsewhere on the ground but, we immediately need some genuine 'A grade' midfield talent.
