Great posts Cam
let's all relax the season has been over for a while. PP's are around the corner. Let the club focus on getting our guys back to health so they can play decent footy. I'll say it again after following the pies for almost 40 years I cant recall a worse season for injuries to our key players. We have one more week of torture to go through!

This proves that Richards is a talent and HAS TO STAY on the list!Snoop Dog wrote:Same old same old - midfield was terrible. The only blokes who earnt their pay today was Holland, Clement, Cloke, Shaw, Davies, Fanning and Richards.
Were we ever going to win? No.
Did we play our best side? No.
Does our best side match up well on the Crows? Yes.
But was the loss unacceptable? YES. Time some huge changes were swept through the club.

Totally agree.lethalburns wrote:I'm not Malthouses biggest fan but I still maintain he needs to stay untill his contract expires.
With a full side ready to go in 2006, some of the best talent from TWO drafts, if he is not capable of getting us to the finals I think he will resign.
Yes Mossi I reckon having injuries sapps your supporters quite a bit - its like a slow death.
Get back on top.
For the first time in all my years of following the pies and having SAT through some shockers[ preliminery final where we got beaten by about 20 goals agains Essendon at VFL park] I made the decision yesterday to turn the tv OFF during the third quarter.
That's Big for me.I am an absolute mascochist even watching replays of when we lose. But yesterday was IT.
I just can't do it anymore. I feel physically sick watching such a spiritless effort.I know it's just "a game" but it is sooo demoralising to see the players and club that I love be sooo pitiful. and as my son said to me "they're SHIT' .These are words I don't want to hear or believe but yesterday it was pretty hard to defend.
I hope everyone who wanted to see us tank games sat through it all because it looked as if that never say die attitude that everyone respects, has indeed been eliminated from this once great club.
To quote Bucks "I don't believe in being rewarded for mediocrity".
Well it appears that there are many who don't agree.

Very dissapointing loss, I travelled over to Adelaide to watch our boys because I believe in them and I believed we would go out and at least give it our best shot yesterday. We seen the players back at the airport, they were all very quiet and dissapointed. I sat next to a property steward on the plane, he admitted there is a big cleanout to come.
There is just one team we favour...

We got done by 110 points FFS. How many players can we have in our best?fan4collingwood wrote:Fanning and Davies have shown a lot of promise, Heath Shaw and C1 were good today. Clement, Buckley,Maxwell, Holland, all fantastic in a very ordinary side. I think Wakes is carrying a Driver injury, with the treatment I saw him getting.
Clement and Holland were the only ones with heart yesterday, is it any wonder they will go 1 and 2 in the b&f?

Post game Crows vs Witches Hats
I didn't watch the game because I don't have foxtel but from what I'm hearing, injuries aren't our main trouble. Sure when Taz, Rocca, Cam Cloke, Fraser, Richards, Didak, Rhyce, Ruzza, Lonie et.al were playing we were matching it with Adelaide (the only reason they won was McLeods goal in the dying minutes) but we have to start looking at our depth (we have none, yesterdays' match proved that much) our spirit and the way the boys are trained. For instance, why over the last couple of years since coming to Lexus Center have we had such a bad run of injuries?! And we have been letting duds like Williams, Cole, Lokan, B.Morrison, etc languish on this list with very little playing time and when they do play they do stuff all. Get rid of them. Trade fringe dwellers like Lokan, Davis and Walker, get us some gun midfielders and put soft cocks like Chad and Caracella on notice. Any more stuffing around not going after the hard ball and yerrrr out in baseball lingo.
Woey i'm not sure about. Not sure anyone would want to trade with us for him, he's getting on, he's slow and not at his best form. Maybe next year he'll be better. Not sure if we can afford to wait and see though
As for the footy dept get rid of frigging Scott Cummings. Actually., get rid of most of MM's yes-men and recruit some ppl who know what they are on about. Wayne Schwass actually offered his services as a forward coach, in the article he wrote recently about Taz. Give him a go. Anything would be better than Cummo. Okay he's a character but honestly, he couldn't coach himself out of a paper bag.
I think Mick deserves one more year if only to see if we end up with a better run of injuries so that he has more to work with . If we sink like the proverbial next year then call for his head. but he should be put on notice that his decision making regarding players in certain positions and match ups needs to be better. I am an optimist, with a healthier list like the beginning of the year i think we could make the finals if we trade/delist some dead wood, get ourselves some pace in the midfield, and ditch some iffy coaching staff, and not have the astounding injuries we've coped with over the last two seasons. But that last one's really not something anyone has any control over, unfortunately.

Lets look at this realistic....its been a BAD year all round....we have had plenty of injuries, the best players that we have have been on the paddock,BUT it just wasnt good enough for the 22 weeks.
Blimey there is always 2006 and onwards.
I have supported the PIES since 1965,I have seen them go UP and I have seen them go DOWN....BUT Ihave stuck with them thru the good and the bad...this is the BAD times,BUT just think that around the corner is a PREMIERSHIP so all you knockers....and I was one once...get off the band wagon.....either support the team OR rack off and lets now worry about the last 21 games and concentrate on 2006.
There is always a FLAG at the end of the rainbow.
There are a lot of up and coming great players on the list...in particular I saw young O'Brien play a great game last week, with him & Leon and a couple of others WHO want to play in the Black & White....I recon that we will be a force so give them all a go.
