Positives!! (Because the negatives are so bloody obvious)
Fanning - keeps getting better (the haters can keep bagging him but I think he is good enough) 16 touches 9 marks 10 hit outs, unlucky hit the post from outside 50 and was unselfish in giving off the handball to Morrison who wasted the chance. He could have easily had 2 goals. He didn't even spend the whole game on the ground. Great effort.
Richards - Didn't find a lot of the ball but still had 17 hit outs and shows promise to be a great tap ruckman if he can stay fit. For his first game in over a year it was good to see.
Davies and Shaw - showed a lot of promise, found a lot of the ball and took a lot of marks and both really tried hard. They are still making mistakes but their endeavour can't be doubted.

It's games like this that make me wonder where the hell this club is heading.
The last 2 years have been the most frustrating to watch, even more so than '98,'99,2000.
At least in those terrible times the players never gave up and put in 100%.
In '99 when we finished bottom, we were only one of three teams not to lose by more than 60pts.
This year we have been pummeled by massive margins.
The biggest factor for our inspid performances this year is:
Inability to execute the basics of football !!!!!
I'm talking about manning up
I'm talking about kicking accurately
I'm talking about running into space
I'm talking about taking easy marks
I'm talking about kicking to your team/teamates advantage
I'm talking about desire
I'm talking about hunger
But most of all....
I'm talking about PRIDE !!!!

Wev've won roughly 12 of the last 50 matches right? Does anyone think we can break this losing culture next year without making drastic changes?
IMO the coach and a few key players (eg. Woey, Davis, Obree, etc.) along with the sub-par youngsters should all be cleared out at the seasons end.
Not that these players/Mick are beyond redemption. But we are almost at the stage where we need a change for change's sake. More of a symbolic thing, Obree, Woey etc are all perfectly fair 2nd tier players, but by replacing them we are sending a signal that its a new Collingwood and this is something we desperately need to do.

I would be ashamed to admit that I had risen from the ranks. When I rise it will be with the ranks... - Eugene Debs
