Even though the side is named & in temporary positions, I often wonder why they do this.... For example do we expect to see Lockyer starting at half forward? Does anyone see him as a forward player (if you do see him as a player fullstop).
Woey also named at Forward pocket & I think is a chance to re invent himself (ala Buckley as he is getting older & slower). One of mine (& many others) frustrations is Woey's chipping it around in the back line. Put him inside the 50m arc & encourage him to take a shot. I think he has the skills & brains to be able to pull this off. Perhaps his last chance to find a position, as he is too slow in the midfield & counter productive in the backline!!
Someone mentioned the other week that Maxwell is a forward not a backline player, with Harry in the side, is it worth testing these waters? Personally I have been wrapped with him this year & a big fan of his game, he doesn't take a backward step to anyone. Keep him in the backline, he is doing fantatsic!
As for JClo unlike many I actually find he plays a good honest style of football. Sure he makes some mistakes, but he is one of the few giving it 100% every time he attacks the ball!! His skills & decision making may let him down, but not his heart, something many of our 22 can't say.

I think that MM and the coaching staff have completely lost the players and most of the list aren't buying what the coaching staff are selling.
I feel bad for Bux that he is surrounded by average and less than average players and way below standard coaching, skills, strength and fitness staff.
I would love to see the Pies win - but reality check again - Dockers by 40+ points.

Good to See O'Brien named in the side. I watched him play against Bendigo on the box and I was impressed. he is pretty mobile for his size and I think he held up the CHB position well. Not saying I expect big things from him for his first game, but I definetly can see some potential there.
In reality with all of the players out and others in doubt. I really can't see us getting over the line. But hay I said the same thing last year, and we ended up spoiling Freo's Finals campaign.
As long as the side out there all give it their best, win/lose or draw i would be happy.

All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

We will win cause we are Collingwood and then aren't
I don't care about the stupid not drafting of Pavlich and the fact we got Danny Roach. At the time Danny Roach could have been a superstar and Pavlich had bad shoulders. So if Danny Roach ends his career with 1 game and Pavlich ends his with 350 games and 600 goals that isn't a direct reflection on our drafting strategy. We don't need a 600 goal scorer, we got Steve Stunner McKee instead.

NO didak!!! in the herald sun today it does not have his name in the side.
BUT then again we have a maxfield and presti is wearing number 25
we only have 1 ruckman in fanning
i wouldnt mind seeing o'brien play on sandilands when sandilands is in the forward line and put clement on medhurst.
our main worry is the ruck 1 magpie vs 2 dockers.
we need to hit our targets and to kick straight. for once lets see if we can kick more goals then points
*just found out on the website didak is out with a ankle injury*

Mickey says the Pies are likely to pull off an upset but Mickey will have a tear in his eye everytime Pavlich touches the ball.
Mickey would have had Pavlich's number on his back if we had done the right thing and drafted him.
And Mickey's team would have won two more premierships.
But Mickey isn't bitter.

I have a feeling that the pies forward line will unexpectedly start to click today - a couple of young players to have their best games, maybe C3 and Egan, and CAracella to regain enthusiasm and form - all largely hingeing on Buckleys forward play. Woey to get under the radar for a couple of important goals, even though I think his AFL days should be numbered unless he is carrying.
Also considering Burns' recent seemingly reduced energy, I'd definitely be playing him as a permanent forward where he could do much more damage, he is a very good forward - though it won't happen.
Also the midfield to continue their pretty solid form.
Anyway will it be enough to win? I doubt it, Freo by 2 to 6 goals.
But that depends mainly on Freo who are an enigma.
