I see your point. But every one else is seeing this as some sort of immediate fix for our problems. I agree that we have a strong side if we could just get all of them on the park at once. But kids still wet behind the ears, with the chance of maybe being good or not is not worth tanking games for.The drafting of 17-18yo's will ensure that we retain a competitive list into the future. We have also not had much of a crack at some of the premium kids coming through the system over the last few years so supporters salivate at the prospect of picking up a player who could become the next Judd, Ball, Wells or Hodge.

All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

Re: team
We we're speaking with Gregg Swann (Western Magpies Radio show) on Sunday and he advised that Richards would be playing this sunday against Freo. He also mentioned that Fraser has been put away for the rest of the year and will not play again till next year.lawboy wrote:No chance Richards will get a run in the ones - the poor bloke hasnt run in 15 weeks so there is no way they can bring him straight into the 1s!
INS: Presti, Swan, T Clo, Harry
OUTS: Yakka, Rusling, Walker, BJ
As far as the game goes, if the guys can't get themselves up for Buckley's 250th then nothing will inspire them to win..... so that being said and the fact that surely they will want some revenge from the round seven disgrace... and the fact that this is the Dockers we're talking about here.... I'll go with the Pies by six goals.......
Cheers
Steve

In my view, Jason Cloke will play (as will Hall- if only for the height factor), Egan and H.Shaw to fill out bench- one of our youngest sides ever.
I would rest the following for the last 5 weeks for next year- Fraser/Johnno/Rocca/Caracella/Walker/Richards and have whatever ops they need to get themselves up for 2006.
We probably won't win this week but every player who does not play their guts out in Buck's 250th should be AUTOMATICALLY clear out their locker.
Looking for a big effort from O'Brien- he is a big unit who runs hard and kicks it a mile. Hope that Heater keeps up his efforts from last week.
I hope we give the Fremantle Franchise a touch up, but realistically we will struggle- hope T-Rav (as my son calls him) has a big one- I've always had a soft spot for the Clokes.
Go Magpies, make every bump count and rattle their teeth repeatedly.
2006 starts on Sunday.

Good onya Harry !! We owe these AFL sponsored surfies - our patch our rules. We have beaten last years premiers remember and have just been treading water the last few weeks so there should be plenty in the tank and do it FFS at least for the skipper god knows he puts in every week for the CFC !! As master Hewitt so aptly puts it "C'MON !!"
Let all your troubles be forgot for we are Collingwood. We'll fight it out until the end we're Collingwood. So help me Jock.
Two pies and two beers thanks!!
