That performance last night was as bad as the performance against Brisbane. Why you ask, bacause atleast with last week, we were playing someone good compared to this Essendon team.
But the reality is that Sheedy is the master of getting his players up for these types of games. They were prepared to Run, Run and Run all night and the result in the end absolutely flattered us. I took nothing away from the game except for the performance of the champ who busted his gut all night. The reality is that our players have become butter fingers and are not willing to gang tackle anymore and put a bloke into the ground as was the case in 02-03. The Essendon players for the shit team they are were prepared to tackle, bump etc and do all the small things that win you a game of footy.
Some of our players need to take off their jumpers, put it in front of themselves and take a long hard look at what they are playing for. Last night, the only thing some of our players were playing for was their pay packets after the match which a lot of them did not deserve!

MG and eddiesmith, can you two please take your personal insults and abuse elsewhere. I'm here trying to read this thread and it's full of crap from the two of you.

If you want to debate Jason Cloke, do it elsewhere, try MSN so you can abuse each other to your hearts content.

Just stop filling this board with crap.

C1 is one of the men in next week I'm sure. He has to be, to finally regain a spot in the team.

Nick Maxwell maybe? He copped it last night but HAS BEEN GOOD this season.
First...Anyone who watched that game and thinks that the umpires are not biased against us was not watching the same game i was, they were atrocious.
YES! McLaren is the worst umpire in the history of the AFL. The most goofy, annoying figure out there on a footy field! Get the boy off....sheesh - some of those frees to Lloyd in the first quarter...

Just do what I have done and put them both on your ignore list. Works for me, but it does create a problem with thread continuity. I now have an option whether or not to read their posts.

The game was over at 1/4 time again.
By the way did anyone take note of the frees for and against the PIES at 1/4,1/2 & 3/4 time....I believe that it was 3 to 1 in favour of the bombers...so therefore we were behind even before the game started.
The other rules that really gets me is that when the player goes for the punch of the ball (spoil) instead of the mark, then there is a free given to the other side een though there is SLIGHT contact with the shoulder....stupoid rule that one.I saw the ferees against the PIES so many time because of that rule and there was NO assistance given at all.I must admit that playing in front does help greatly,BUT lets be fair, and admit that even the best players cant play infront all the time.
I thinks that its about time that the playing list was overhaulled and that the players that WANT to play in 2006 be left there and the others should be booted.
Bring the team back to the 1990's when we were a force....
Also by the way I agree with Dale 61....time for the two juvies...MG/Eddiesmith to take their arguements off this site and go somewhere else...this is a good site,so dont stuff it up.
Wait til you have been here for a few years before you can make 'rank'

The worst thing you can do after a child throws a tantrum is to give him what he/she wants.

On another matter.. maybe we need an assistant coach cleanup more than a player one. One of the main reasons we were so good in 2002 was because of one of Mick's West Coast mates, Dean Laidley.

Leave Gotch as Willi coach perhaps, but remove him as an assistant.

If our assistants are: McKenna, Brown, Gotch, Fletcher then..

I think Brown needs to go and get a real job, sorry Rowdy, it's time, Fletcher can go and so can Gotch. I know some people will disagree, but I would keep McKenna as I see his style emerging in Maxwell, and in the relative composure of the backline.

Out: Brown, Fletcher, Gotch
In: Crosisca (forwards), Misiti (mids) and Ayres (put him in with MM)
Get back on top.

Buckley - Absolute champion personified. This guy is unbelievable. He misses half a season and comes back to these types of performances. Man he is good. Hopefully playing forward will prolong his career.

Egan, this kid can play. Ran, and ran most of the night...pretty much got the ball all the time when he was on. When he improves on his finishing skills he will have 4-5 goal games. He could have kicked 4 last night.

Caracella. Is there something wrong with this bloke? Is he injured? When he was on, he was piss weak, seriously didn't try.

Taz. Rest him now. Let him have the rest of the season off. He is lame, and he is shot. His first efforts will close to non existent last night, let alone second efforts. Keep playing Hall down forward and in ruck. Although Hall didn't get much of it, I think he deserves more game time.

Johnson, his efforts last night weren't very good at all. He wasn't the only offender, but I counted two goals that he cost us from non existent and sloppy "tackling". I mean, c'mon Pies, tackle is not tapping the opposition on the shoulder and expecting them to fall over. Hit em hard. This soft crap gives me the shits, not sure how the blokes that tackle hard put up with it. Absoutely disgraceful considering it is a crucial aspect our Australian Football. Pull your finger out Pies.

I could go on, but can't be stuffed. Overall, I thought Buckley and Egan were good.

Oh, btw, I think Trav Cloke needs a rest. The kid is stuffed. Give him a week or two at Williamstown to rest...longer if he needs it. We aren't playing for finals now, lets rest em' and start again.

...and I don't usually whinge about umps, but they were a JOKE last night. Disgraceful, and pathetic umpiring performance. Lloyd, and others would have kicked 5 goals from non-existent free kicks. While we probably would have lost anyway, the petty free kicks could've cost us the game.
Players who should be delisted.
Cole
Lonie
Lockyer
Johnson
Fanning
Rowe
Johnno and Lockyer delisted?????? you are crazy, johnno coming back from injury and Tarkyn has played some good footy in recent weeks, Fanning will need time think he is worth keeping just needs to harden up a bit. Rowe should be left to harden up in the scooby doo's and we can make a descision on him at the end of the year, too many soft efforts, Lonie I am unsure about he needs to find the footy a lot more he is a big boy with a lovely kick if only we could gety him to more contests and to throw himself around a bit.

Egan was great. His problem is his kicking. He is no good infront of goal and baloons too many. Compare him to davis who is small and does not get the ball as much but can kick a freak goal.

I think Egan should play the role rheece shaw was playing, sweeping from behind. He could base his game on Daniel wells or Mcleod and do the damage up the field. I just dont think he is any good in the forward line because his kikcing is a worry.

We are onto something big with him but as he has flare.
There's more to life than footy.........just not much more.
