reasonably well held but he still got 20 possessions and kicked goals. The major problem for the dee's was bradshaw, but our defense should hold him, which makes brown the biggest threat. Whoever plays on aka must be careful too

Leppitsch out for Lions
July 8, 2005

BRISBANE Lions will be without key defender Justin Leppitsch for tomorrow night's AFL clash with Collingwood at the Gabba.

Leppitsch has succumbed to a nerve-related back injury and was scratched from the Brisbane line-up today.

Coach Leigh Matthews has yet to decide on the centre halfback's replacement, which is tipped to be Darryl White.

Emergency Matthew Moody has also been ruled out with a thigh injury which has seen both Martin Pike and Michael Rischitelli named in addition to White on the emergency list.

Actually Swooper, the stats don't really support this. In terms of hitouts, their best is Dylan Mclaren at number 11 in the comp with 190 Hitouts and Keating is sitting at Number 18 with 145 Hitouts.
In short not one in the top 10 which means that they don't really have the ruck dominace that they may have had in previous years when they had Beau McDonald available!

yer but they had no ruck options for about 3 rounds earlier in the year. So they lost a lot of points there. But i agree that ports ruck division was more dangerous than Brisbanes and we shut that down even though brogan go hurt. Lade and Primus are multidimensional meaning they can play forward, back ruck. Keating and McLaren are just ruckman and arent as influential around the ground. Cloke could do damage

I think Keating does some stuff up in the forward line that can hurt us and I think Fanning needs to learn to become more accountable and provide much more aggression if he's going to compete against these two ruckmen.

Rightly (most likely) or wrongly - Brisbane couldnt give a shit about us.

The game will be played on their terms.
