Well lade will spend most of his night up forward and the ruck will be shared by Primus and Brogan. So it will be Wakelin vs Lade most of the night with Lade been the 2nd tall up forward. Apart from that, the rest of the power forward line is small. Id say Clement may go onto Dew or Ebert. Collingwood seemed to struggle against the smaller melbourne forward line and the small doggies forward line earlier this year, i hope we match up better this round. We have Swan and Lockyer to take the other small forwards with Johnson in the mix as well so we should cover as long as Presti can do a job on Tredrea.
I am not sure whether mick will put presti on tredrea as tredrea moves up the ground where clement would be better suited to him. Presti may go onto lade with wakelin sweeping. Mick has been leaving wakelin off for a lot of time over the past few rounds, perhaps teams are playing smaller. We also have Maxwell in defence who could take a small or tall player. We should be able to keep the damage to a minimum. The trouble is the amount of midfield goals power kick.
West Coast kick a lot of midfield goals as well. If we play tight in the middle and tag hard, we should cut down a lot of the run which will leave a greater burden on Tredrea. It is all dependant on how tight licuria, holland and co are. Lonie didak and buckley must hit hard going the other way.
Id definately say lica will take burgoyne as he has been a real pest to him in the past and licuria has been allowed to obtain a lot of touches going the other way. Buckley will be given their number 1 tagger this week after last weeks effort so im guessing Kane Cornes will move onto him or they will throw Cassissi onto him to give Cornes some run. Either way buckley should do well and free up licuria and Holland to go back to their normal defensive games. Lonie and Didak should provide the drive we need.
Buckley and Lonie are both new inclusions into the team this year really and have already added more drive i think, Lonie especially with 3 goals in 2 games. Our middle shapes up a bit better and O'Bree looks more dangerous with a bit of quality around him.
In the past, O'Bree and Licuria have been the main dangers to port as they rely solely on attack and pay little attention to players going the other way. Burgoyne is the worst at this. In the first half of ports match against hawthorn, the hawks stayed close as port allowed hawthorn free entry into their forward line. Unfornatley they nuckled down in the second half with drastic effects. If we can catch port napping, we should put them away on the board with a multidimensional forward line.
We are a chance, but we have to play some bloody good footy and mick must have this planned to a tee.
