My wish list for the game:-
Out: Woey, Rowe ( needs a rest ), Taz (needs a rest ),O'Bree (Buckley and Burns showed us how to deliver a ball!!!) and Loken ( didn't get enough time last week but better players in Willo ) Egan ( should not play within 6 days of concussion ) = 6 players 3 resting 3 dropped
In: Davis, Yakka, Rusling, H Shaw, C1 and Johnno
I expect the follwoing:-
Out: Egan (resting ), Tarrant (resting) Rowe maybe Loken
In: Davis Rusling Johnno maybe H Shaw

we just had a 2 week break, why should we rest player?
at the selection table im guessing:
in: Rusling, Johnson
out: Lokan, Rowe
Cmon, why would we want to drop tarrant if he is our only forward option. Trav had a worst game that taz on saturday night. Atleast tarrant took 7 marks and kicked 2 goals. Thats not an awful night by anyones standards.
Game will be won or lost by the ability of our midfield to stop ports run. The advantage we have is the port may become a bit complacent after a romping of hawthorn, we will play tighter than that.
matchups could be:
Buckley vs Cassissi or Kane Cornes, depends on how tight williams decides to be.
Holland vs Kane Cornes would be the matchup id say mick will search for.
Licuria vs Burgoyne: Lica will play tight but burgoyne wont allowing lica to notch up about 25 touches. Always plays well against port.
Swan vs Dew: We need a big body to tame Dew who is in top form.
Tredrea? Id say Presti will get first crack on him, with Clement to back up.
Wakelin vs Lade.
We are giong to struggle hard in the ruck.
We have Cloke and Fanning vs Primus, Lade and Brogan. Anyone suggesting that Fanning will be dropped in out of their mind considering the quality of ports talls.
Shoot me down for saying this but we may need another ruck option. Walker? If Fraser doesnt pull up who is going to tame ports talls. However i think mick will bring in Rusling and use Trav Cloke as a backup ruckman. Trav was played ruck last quarter of the sydney game. Fanning has a huge test, as does Cam.
I would like to see Ryan Lonie go up forward and man up Chad Cornes. But I would like to see Lonie stand around the 60 metre zone pulling Cornes away from the forward 50. Lonies ability to score from outside 50 should draw Cornes away. I doubt Williams will put too many extras behind the ball as he is very attacking.
Tarrant vs Bishop real be a real tough one for Taz but if Rusling and Trav present up forward, tarrant should be able to drag Bishop up the ground where he is uncomfortable.
Port rely on freedom, running, speed. In the past we have beat them at their best by choking them up in the centre. The only way we will win is play the style of game we did against sydney. Honestly there is no other team in the afl that couldve gone wiht sydney last week playing that style of game. We have the in and unders. But if we do not play accountable, we will be punished. We cannot get into a shoot out or a free style of game. Port have more options and they are great from the ruck. We have to tame port, keep the game tight.
I think if we put Buckley, Didak and Lonie into the centre, we have a bit of class kicking inside 50. Id rely on Licuria, Burns, woey, swan and the co to tighten things up and use the 3 i mentioned as our outsiders who play infront of the ball in an attacking manner.
We have to stop Burgoyne as he is the best at centre breaks, Dew who looks for tredrea everytime and hits him with deadly accuracy and Brogan who will belt us from the ruck. If we stop these 3, Tredrea will have little supply.
Honestly, Port by about 24, but ill tip pies by 5

Hope we can fill the DOME this Friday night & really make some noise under the roof!! We definitely need to get behind the boys for this one and create a positive atmosphere that will help rally the troops and get them up for a win!
They beat us twice last year:
AAMI by 17pts despite us winning the 1st & last quarters (good signs), O'Bree's 38P & McG's 33P's (although that may be the reason we lost ) and No Buckley.
MCG by 37pts despite again winning the 1st & last quarters (OK, maybe that stat counts for squad ), Bucks our leading possession winner with 23, Fraser kicking 1G 4B, Tarrant 0G 4B Straight!!!!.... as opposed to Lonie toping our goal kickers with 3G straight!!! BTW we kicked 9G 16B collectively!!!!
I'm tipping we'll turn the tables this week with some accurate goal kicking, the shutdown of the Cornes boys (Kane killed us last year!!) & Treadrea (Go Presti!!!... please stop praising him in the media - Give him curry this week!!!!) and plenty of RUN, RUN, RUN!!!!
Collingwood by 27pts!!.....OR we'll lose and start draft talk come Saturday morning!

I reckon Leon will play. He usually plays well against Port for some reason.
Woey should be dropped - but probably won't be. I like Rowe, but his kicking has been shocking at times this year - a chance to be dropped.
Egan will play. Ruz should come back in, and they need to play another youngster at some stage. I want Johnson back in the side, so I can't wait for him to be declared fit.
I have no idea who will win, but I desperately want the Pies to smash a team this year, and it'd be really nice if it was Port.
I'm pissed that I can't attend this week - mate's bday, so I want some good news.

Dave86, we would drop Tarrant to give him time to rest up the leg and to open up another spot in the side. I'd give Tazza and C3 a rest and play a small forward line that allows the likes of Heath, Brayden, Dids and Neon to have a run on the ball. Licca could also do with a break. (However, I realise we can't play a small forward line in too many games or it will mess our structure up).
It's all about development now. Burnsy and Lonie can play down forward with Cara, and Bucks can show Dids, Heath, Brayden and Neon how to play out of the middle.
Maxwell is a tempting forward replacement, but we need to keep grooming him to take Wake's place. Fanning needs more ruck time, so it would also be good to see C2 spend some time one-out in the square.
Our priority MUST be developing the midfield for next year, not breaking an AFL record by winning 15 games in a row to secure the flag. We already know our forward and back lines are awesome, we've just got to get the midfield (including the rucks) right. We also need to blood another young key defender some time (pity we can't elevate O'Brien). Booch, Davies, Rusling and Egan should be considered long-term priorities, though of all of them, Egan is the most likely because he can stay out of harm's way in a forward pocket (and still get concussed occasionally!!).
If the young midfielders step up, we're a real crack for a high finish next year.

No one has yet mentioned Port's record at Telstra Dome - it is terrible. In the last 2 years Port have played at the Dome 3 times - for an 80 point loss to the Kangaroos, 60 point loss to the Tigers and 40 point loss to the Bombers.
Continuing that trend we should beat them by 20 points. Although we are outpointed in the ruck (badly) I dont think that makes too much of a difference. Hopefully Primus will play as he is a large shit-truck.
