I don't mind rusling out however if it was the expense of egan. they do the one percenters in the forward line that others don't... who will really chase the forwards around now??!?!

We really needed BJ back given we lost Rhyce Shaw. Buckley will take over Morrisons place easily, not sure about Rusling out but from what I hear Fanning earnt his spot.

This is probably off topic, but I didn't wanna make a whole new topic for just this question because it has probably be answered a million times. But what is happening with Tom Davidson, is he fit? Playing for Williamstown? Playing Well? Close to getting a game?

Davo played 2 weeks ago, they had the bye and this week he missed with soreness. When you dont play for over a year and then push hard to get back its no suprise he might have some soreness. Not sure if he is playing this week

Reasonably happy with the selection table thus far. Johnson and Buckley were givens, but its interesting to see Rusling got the axe. He's obviously won a band of followers fairly quickly! :) He didn't get all that much of a run against the Demons, making it pretty harsh. Morrison is said to be out injured, possibly answering the question marks over his recent poor form. Woewodin has again retained his place in the starting line-up. The slower, stoppage reliant Swans gameplan will suit him. It would have been nice to see one of Davies, Yakka or Egan get a look in. Good to see Flaps Fanning will get a gig. 46 tapouts against Box Hill. We're up against Ball, Goodes and Jolly. Big ask, considering it would only have been Fraser and Cameron Cloke otherwise.

Good to see Lokan named as an emergency. Although I doubt he'll be here next year, its nice to see him pushing everyone else along. if he can crack it for a game, it means that places in the side are hard to come by.

Cant understand why Rusling would be out, we need players with pace. Glad to see Morrison gone but I dont understand why Fanning is in, I really dont rate him. Would have preferred to see Egan or Davis in but BJ is a good start.

Lonie is lucky to retain is place.

OK, here is a possible line-up for the day;

B: Lockyer, Presti, Wakelin
F: Davis, Hall, O'Loughlin

HB: Clement, Maxwell, Swan
HF: O'Keefe, Goodes, Buchanan

C: Rowe, O'Bree, Buckley
C: McVeigh, Ablett, Crouch

FOLL: Licuria, Fraser, Holland
FOLL: Kirk, Jolly, Williams

HF: Didak, T.Cloke, Johnson
HB: Mathews, Rbrts-Thmsn, Kirk

F: Tarrant, C.Cloke, Caracella
B: Barry, Dempster, Bolton

I/C: Fanning, Lonie, Woewodin, Burns
I/C: Ball, Bevan, Malceski, Saddington

My thought was that Lockyer has earned his spot as the guy who stops the oppositions best small forward with the scalps of Gary Ablett Jnr and Aaron Davey and that Johnson can put on good defensive pressure up forward and rotate effectively throught the middle to rest Bucks. So I would leave the back six pretty much unchanged. Fraser might be a good matchup for Goodes if Goodes plays around the ground, I like the idea of Cam Cloke in the goalsquare, Tarrant leading up the ground, Carracella finding space and Johnson and Didak roving packs, putting tackling pressure, taking marks and generally wreaking havok across half forward. With Fraser and Fanning alternating in the ruck and feeding the likes of O'bree, Bucks, Burns, Licca and Holland and them feeding out to the wings in Rowe, Lonie or Woe, we should be pretty competetive in the middle.
This looks a pretty good line-up to me, Rusling will be a star in my opinion, but he is very young and is basically a leading full forward, which is what Tarrant is there for, what we really need is a goalsquare big-body, which Cam can probably make a fist off (esp when he is being supplied by his own brother!) Buckley in for Morrison is a fine swap and Johnson in for Shaw is like for like to some extent, this would have to be close to our stronget line-up of the season, if we play with belief, we should win!

P.S.
Could people fill me in on what they think of my match-ups? I must confess I don't know much about the Sydney side and much of it was just guess work!

Hasn't shown much when he has played in the 1's, I think we would be better suited by playing Rusling, his speed could be very important putting defensive pressure on syd's running defenders.
