Tarks was probably our best beat Davey, Walls on the commentary was correct.

All Davey did when he got the ball was skirt around, do a loop then fire off a handball.

Tarks was driving balls through the centre and out of the backline.

Just wondering how Tarkyn played?
who he played on, etc.
One of the best. Won about 17 touches, held Davey to no goals.

We looked tired compared to last week against geelong. We did'nt play with the same intensity as we have done in the last few weeks, I thought everyone would have been pumped for licas milestone game.
The demons played tarrant very well, but we persisted with him and in the end he got very frustrated and was lucky not to do something to get reported. We needed another foil for him but we did.nt seem to have a back up plan. I thought the backline did as best they could but was let down by the fowards and centres. With 2 weeks off we should have everyone available bar rocca I WOULD NOT be suprised if we beat sydney.

Tarks & Woey = Soft/not interested in putting their bodies on the line & both out of form. Yes, Tark got the ball a few times & so did his opponent. He had many opportunities to do good team things,.... didn't! Woey had an ordinary game - but was one of the few able to pinpoint Tarrant on a lead!

Tarrant = I thought it looked like he was trying (thats not sarcastic!!). Poor guy has to take mark of the year every time one of our midfielders kick the ball in his general vicinity!!,... although he again missed a pressure goal he should've kicked on his LEFT!!!!

O'Bree = Those who keep saying he's in the votes,.... please stop, i feel sick when you say that!!! WILLY thanks!

Cam = Did OK IMHO shouldering the majority of ruck work (Fraser looked to be carrying something,..... no not a purse!!! - Maybe a virus or something??,... drowsy looking). He made good position but failed to capitalise on some of his hard running. I'm still a cam-fan!

Lonie = Loved that goal

Gee i thought we were gonna geta run on in the third when the crowd got behind us!!!!... the momentum was there!!! In the end, the Dees played very well in the second half and we were pretty awful obviously in the later stages.

Every silly mistake or turnover we allow seems to turn into a direct scoring opportunity for the opposition - Where as we're always working our butts off for a shot!!!

Still, only 2 games out with Bucks & Johnno to return,.... Rocca?? :P

Excellent - Burns, Lockyer, Clement

Very good - Licuria, O'Bree

Average - Didak, Rowe, Woewodin, Holland, Presti

Below Average - Swan, Caracella, Maxwell, Tarrant, Wakelin, T.Cloke, C. Cloke, Lonie

Poor - Rusling, Morrison, Fraser

No ranking for Shawy - not fair to....

I think that if you only have (IMO) 5 players playing above average footy you will not win many games.

was not happy with him at all today.... he was briliant on jnr ablert but this week he was not very good at all.
Davey did hardly any damage yesterday. I don't mind Tarks letting Davey lead out wide to the flanks, and the wing, he does more damage closer to goal. Tarks did well yesterday. It's not hard to leave a player behind when you have that much pace. Davey would have done the same thing to Clement FFS.

he was not damaging!!!!

to have 30 possies and not be damaging is not good enough!
Mate, he was playing on the back half, and against a player that you can't give too much room. He did a good job by limiting Davey. A very good job.

I think it was just that match ups didn't suit, Lone.

Basically it all comes down to the fact that we got flogged out of the middle after half-time and melbourne started to kick straight.

From where I was sitting (Ponsford end, Joilmont side pocket) that our defensive matchups went a bit strange in the 3rd quarter, can't remember specifics but I do remember thinking that the matchups didn't look good.

The ruckwork in the second half was excellent by white tapping the ball to the one side of the ground and clearing space behind him for his followers to run through and accept the second possession. Our midfielders didn't have a chance to get it!

I'm not gonna offer any judgements on our backline, excellent job and the scoreline didn't reflect the job they put in on the day. Those freakish goals by melbourne in the last quarter out of the richmond side pocket would have baffled any defence in the competition. Our defence was clever and pushed their forwards wide at every occasion. Additionally, Melbourne just have so many options in their forward line it is difficult for any team to match them up (with the exception of Holland - quite possibly the most overrated player in the competition behind Chris Grant).

Forward line was OK but didn't hurt them when they got the ball down there. Tarrant was ritulistically shafted everytime he went near the ball with about 20 blokes on him at every constest. But that said he didn't seem to pick the ball up very quickly as Nicholson led him to the ball on a few occasions. Don't worry Taz, I have had those days as well. Just keep playing the way MM tells you and you will be fine (Just try not to give away too many more 50m penalties. I know the game was dead but that is just undiciplined)

Basically it all comes down to the lack of midfield grunt/Rucking against Jeff White. I know we managed to play in two grand finals without a recognised ruckman but White is a step above. People talk about Spider as being the premier ruckman in the comp but White is better in my option. Our midfield grunt on the other hand will be fixed soon with the return of Captain Fantastic. He'll provide excellent leadership and a work ethic second to none. IMHO he should have played today for more of my witty and insightful comments look in the million and one threads about Bucks.

Anywho thats my rant, read it if u want or don't....
