Admitedly Melbourne did pull a lot of goals out of their asses in that last quarter.
The bigger picture is that we now have a relatively easy draw from here on in.
Sydney are definitely beatable at the Telstra Stadium-
I hate to state the obvious but that is a must win game.
next weeks changes-
in- buckley + johnson and richards if available, if not davis/cole comes in.
out- c.cloke woewodin rowe shaw-injured

We were a completely different team after half time and at no stage was it for the better. For those that will knock Swanny, I pose to you this. Mick Malthouse was out coached and outsmarted. Swanny was never going to be a great matchup for Yze but for lack of options it was Swan. Had Mick been forthright he would have played Clement on him from the get go, and with Johnno out we were hamstrung.
After half time, we looked slow and once again, without Rhyce, nobody threatened to carry the lines.
To those who though O'Bree was in the better today, have a good look at yourselves. Had it no been for his skills errors and fundamental errors at that, we would have been in a far better position. He turned the ball over three crucial times in the third term that lead to scoring opportunities. When he carries the ball he hatches it, just takes too long. He had Didak open on the 50 in the third term and looking dangerously, yet took four bounces in 20 metres and drilled the ball to the top of the square on a day when our forwards couldn't have taken a mark against under 10's.
Woewodin was good in the first half, but lack of pace, stamina and ability to put his freaking head over the pill in the second half summed up his day.
Ryan Lonie is underutilised and for those who criticise his game today, look at the fact he sat on the last line of defence for all but 10 minutes of the game. He should be playing forward of the centre and its a waste of his prestigous foot skills to have him in a back pocket.
Nick Maxwell played well, did what he had to. As for Shane Wakelin, it loathes me to say it, but it was the worst game I've seen him play in Collingwood colours.
For the past 3 years the Melbourne game has been critical to our season and if Bucks said he was right, Bucks should have played. We don't achieve anything more playing him next week at Willy or the week after in Sydney than we would have by playing him today, and that is the truth.
Travis Cloke played awful, but he'll learn. As for Cameron, the kid really needs a brain transfusion. Why he thought he'd outrun a midfielder is beyond me. Moreso, why he runs out of position is further out of my thought realm. He doesn't have a football brain from my modest observations.
Julian Rowe is never going to get into a game coming off the bench in fits and spurts. He needs to see a game out on the ground. He's solid overhead, just let him play. Same goes for Rusling. If you are going to play him at full forward, suggest to people his leads be honored.....he's quick with reasonable hands but we don't kick the freaking abll to him.
Josh Fraser just looks ill......thats it.
Didak was solid, but never got the run in the midfield he should have. Burns and Lica were good all day, but too many touches behind centre. Lockyer was having a nightmare in the first quarter on Davey, redeemed himself, but needs to be entering 50 as much as he is rebounding it.
Dutchy got a royal touch up by The Gambler and Chad Morrison for all his detractors, will hit a target unlike many of his colleagues.
For mine against the Swans......
IN: Buckley, Johnson, Iaccobucci, Davis
OUT: Shaw (inj), O'Bree, Woewodin, Rusling
You'd also have to consider Egan if for no other reason that he'd add spice to a midfield that too often looks slow and a forward line that lacked genuine crumbers today.

John No. You can't call a kid a kid if you are kiddier than the proposed kid. The 'poor guy' would have been more appropriate. Hell I wouldn't even call him a kid, some of the old farts around here like Canberra might.Johnson#26 wrote: -Shawry - I love this bloke. The poor kid gets nothing going his way.
Get back on top.

Disappointing, but probably the reality check we needed. They are flag material and we pushed them hard for 2 and a bit qtrs.
The difference in the end was what we all know......extra speed and class through the middle.
Add Bucks, Johnno, a fitter & harder Leon and who knows. Plus losing Shaw's pace today was decisive. We didn't have too many options to fight back with.
Thought Tarks & Burnsy were our best. OB despite his poor kicking did a heap of work.
I don't want to join the 'lets kick Woey while he's down' brigade. So I'll just say that he's had better games.
Lonie and Fraser continue to tantalise and frustrate in equal amounts. Both need an aggression transpant.
I'd still be confident of beating the Swans. It ain't all over yet.

Lonie is a big girl, he should be de-listed - we need tough nuts not sheilas.
Cam Cloke is also soft for such a big guy. Very disappointing to see Woey so woeful.
In: Davis, Buckley, Egan
Out: shaw, Lonie, Woey

Most of my favourite bands start with "M" - Mars Volta, Mastodon, Megadeth, Metallica, Midnight Oil, Misfits...except King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard ~

losing shaw and not having egan really screwed us up speedwise, needed shaw to hold johnstone in the 2nd half.
lil bit dissappointed with lonie, but should get another shot at it, hopefully he can get some confidence back. (good goal in the 2nd quarter though)
C2 was clumsy today, might be better off with fanning back in.
looking fwd to the return of bucks, egan, johnson and maybe fanning, yakka, and davies

Well disappointed with the result but lets face it they at full strength were just better on the day and we have some quality sitting in the stands
Maybe we got a little carried away with ourselves after the last three weeks, maybe they gave everything and in the second half had no petrol tickets left!! - especially those who have had interupted preseasons and injuries
Some positives
Rusling's effort in the second quarter, Ponsford end forward pocket area
The return of the running Lonie goal - why can't he play on the HFF???
Cam held some overhead marks (and then turned it over I know!!)
Maxwell gets better every week
We have some kids Egan, Yakka, H Shaw, B Shaw we can bring in
Bucks will be back!!!
We have a week off which will help our blokes like Taz, Dids, who are carrying niggles!!!!!!!!!!!
Some negatives
R Shaw - this is tragic let's hope it is not season ending We Missed Him!!!
Woey - sorry Woey I think the game has passed you by - too slow in pace and too slow of mind
Chad - see Woey
Cam - too much showboating IMO
