My exam finishes at 12, so I'll be rushing to the MCG straight after it. Should be a ripper of a game

Rowe would be most likely to give way for Bucks if he played, but if the Pies want to play games, wouldnt put it past them to pay a fine and drop a player listed in the starting 18

It is unlike Malthouse to play those sort of games but he might have left Buckley out just becasue Melb said they didn't expect him to play and he will bring him in because he was always going to play, well I hope so anyway.

Disappointing for Bucks not to play. Not to worry. He has another two weeks to rest the dodgy hammy. :)

Pryney, looks like Heffernan is the man ready to come in.

I am never confident against Melbourne but we have had a pretty good record against them in recent years. They are a good team with many hard runners, so it will be won through the middle.
I think we can cover their forward line and beat them in ours.
It will be up to Lica, Burns, Brodie, Woey and O'Bree to put pressure on their midfield, like they have been doing in the past three weeks.
Our forward line looks capable of kicking over 15 goals, if they do this we will win.
Pies by 10 points.

I have an exam too.

Meh.

Really fired up about this game. And very nervous.

It has the makings of an epic.

Having said that, we do very well against them even on our worst days.

UMPIRES

McBurney, Wenn, McInerney

First have to dampen my day by showing me that halfwit McBurney is umpiring then their prediction

WHO WILL WIN AND WHY

Melbourne has a better midfield and more options forward. Assuming that Moloney, Johnstone and McLean win their share, the Demons can set up nicely in the front half with Yze, Bruce, Green, Miller and Neitz. The only question mark is whether Melbourne can execute under the enormous defensive pressure the Magpies have been applying.

PREDICTION

Melbourne by 31points.

Hello? Isnt there 2 teams out there? Arent they playing the side who outscored the best 2 teams in the comp last 3 weeks? But no, its only whether or not Melbourne can control the game, not whether we can go with them. The AGE know nothing,. bunch of dickheads
we got McBurney AND McInerney? ffs

Not surprised that Buckley was dropped and Lonie included.

A very hard match to call but so have the last 3 and look at the results in those!!! I tend to think with the big crowd predominently Collingwood, Paul Licurias 150th, Woewodin keen to prove himself against his old club and Collingwoods good backline the Pies should come in by 14 points. Keep tackling as hard as you have been and we should be fine. Go boys and as they used to say in the 50s go out and stir the stove.

Gut feeling. That's all it was. And my gut feeling is that Bucks will run out on Monday afternoon in the B&W.

Lonie (and/or Lokan) will need to play well to cover for the missing Johnno and Egan. The loss of Egan may be underestimated - even if not getting it much he is a constant worry for the opposition and mixes up the forward line a lot, plus has valuable mongrel.
Also I hope Woey plays proactively and doesn't cost us goals - either defensively or by holding up our forward thrusts. I'd like to see him played up forward where he could be dangerous, or maybe wing/center but definitely not in defense, please.
