I guess it's the same question as last week - can we do it all again?

Will be a close game but Pies by 11 points (I hope!).

First off:

Don't forget to tip in Treloar Roses Tipping Compeitition, for all those involved - http://tipping.magpies.net/ - and just a reminder that people who did not register on Nick's before last round are not eligible for prizes.

Anyway, back to the game, we can win, but we must play like we have been. Hopefully our midfield can stepup a gear as well. Lica, Burns et al have been good, yet inconsistent this year, and I would love to see a massive game from them.

Do they have any injuries?

Pies to win big, 45 points.

- We are hot at the moment and they are inconsistent.
- We usually play well against them on Queens birthday. We won't have a replay of last years debacle.

It's going to be another do or die game for us. Team effort is again called for. Melbourne match up on us pretty well. A Davey needs someone so close to him, he will have to wash them off after a game. Close game in the end that can go either way.

Put it this way, every game for us from now on is do or die if we are seriously chasing finals football. Everyone has got to play their best football on Monday the midfield really need to step up. We have to beat this mob, I have shocking memories of their supporters in previous years.

Let's send the home for the 3/4 time march !! Lot's to play for they are complacent and cocky. We had their measure in a bad year ... This is great playing all the kids and them coming good teams that only play us once will only get that one chance to see what we are made of.

BJ back and the Booch maybe or Leon ??
Let all your troubles be forgot for we are Collingwood. We'll fight it out until the end we're Collingwood. So help me Jock.

Big ask - AGAIN! lol. Q: can the youngsters stand up for one more week - Rusling, Cloke, Egan, Rowe, C2. It's vital to the balance of the team that they keep exerting an influence, as any percieved weakness will be punished by the Dees, especially in what will most likely be a shoot out. The Melb back half is their Achilles and all our forwards will be under pressure to contribute healthy results again. Midfield just has to break even. Just to minimise their entry into 50. Given only average entry I'll back our defensive unit to repel enough ball to hold them to a less than profitable score. It boils down to our front half having to kick a winning score again. Hard to predict because of the "ups and downs" associated with having such a young core of players. It would not surprise me in the least if the boys had an "off" day. It has to be expected sooner or later. That's why making a serious, consistant, charge to the finals, stringing 6-7 in a row, is such a daunting task. Which ever way it goes on Mon, I'm more comfortable now with the knowledge that the lads will be very competitive, will not succumb without a physical battle and will do us proud.

This was last years match report from afl.com.au.

I didnt realise both Tarrant and Rocca were out!!

And ominously it was Bucks first week back from his hamstring injury...

I have a good feeling about this game....it is ours for the taking...

Heard a couple of the Melbourne players on SEN and they were talking up Rusling...his speed being something they will have to watch...Whelan also said he will defenitely be taking Didak...

I am really nervous...go pies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/url]

Very important game. If we win I would say we would be in contention for the finals (5-7) . Historically 12 wins has been enough to get into the eight but this year, being so close we may get away with 11 if not 10. 5-6 more wins is not that unbelievable considering we have Port (home), Brisbane (away with 5 GABBA losses), Freo (home), Essendon and the Bulldogs (home).

All 5 games we should be looking to win and with a bit of luck we may even reach 12 wins. Finals contention is still on the cards. With the momentum we have sit back and enjoy.

Go Pies

Russell Robertson said in the paper yesterday he expected to get Jimmy Clement which he is really looking forward to..interestingly there was an article some weeks ago in the paper and he said that James is his most difficult opponent.

Should be a good match up as both are in good form. Go get him Jimmy!!
