Jennifer Witham, from AFL, believes we can win. Probably first time this year, the AFL preview has tipped us. At least we have regained some respect.

I reckon it's going to be a cracker. Let's hope they don't break dids' jaw this time.
As long as we break even in the midfield we will win. We are way stronger than them at the bookends of the ground. I expect the physical pressure from both sides to be very high. They have ablett and chapman who are capable of laying 6+ tackles a match. We have all our forwards showing a lot of commitment and locking down the free running eagles and hawks.
If they win, it will be because their midfield smashes us. Fraser will be much better for surviving his outing against the in-form ruck of the competition, Everitt. He was pivotal in the final quarter last week. We also need guys like Ben Johnson and Swan, who was fantastic in the final quarter against the hawks, to be ultra tough in the clinches at centre bounces to lock down the cats.

Not sure what to think really. We must apply the pressure and move the ball quickly, like we did in the last two rounds. We can win, but we must believe we can win.

The cats are our bogey team, we never beat them. But this has been the most upside down, backward shaping season that this may be the best time to strike.
Cats will be primed to get back onto the winners list after a pretty dissapointing display against the dockers, however in the last few years, cats have been inconsistent. They win a couple straight then loose a few. They are hard to tip. Hopefully they are due for a few losses now.
Cameron Ling has been the destroyer for the cats in collingwood games, the one master of Nathan Buckley. Having no Buckley may actualyl work in our favour. Cameron Ling is has all the talent of Mark Mcgough. He's slow. What he does well is use his opponent to lead him to the ball. However with our current midfield, there is no one to do that, they are all negative players as well. When Ling has to find the footy himself he is no good. Im predicting a shocker from Ling this round. We'll wait and see.
Geelong have a second rate forward line. Ottens has added a bit and Kinglsey is pretty good, but they still lack a real forward. This hasnt mattered because most defences are second rate anyway. This week they are coming up against probably the best backline in the league, or second best after geelongs. We should hold them nicely. However, as i just said, geelong have a great backline. Scarlett was by himself last week, whereas this week he'll have the backup of Mooney and Harley.
So how do we get our goals. Well i have a plan. Ive watched a few geelong matches this year and have noticed that scarlett is not comfortable playing at centre half forward, whereas harley is not comfortable playing at full back. Pt.Adelaide were able to rotate Thurstans and Tredrea depending on their opponent and it worked reasonably well.
Odds are that scarlett will go to Tarrant. Tarrant has to go straight into the centre and make scarlett uncomfortable. There, Tarrant will have the speed to burn scarlett. When this happened against pt adelaide, scarlett was moved off Tredrea onto Thurstans to play at full forward. Port then pushed Tredrea back to the square to play one out with harley. Harley is much better following on a lead but is often beaten one out. This caused nightmares for the cats defence.
Trav and Rusling should be able to rotate with Tarrant to try and keep the right combination for us. The difference between us and port adelaide is that our 3 forwards are very mobile and will fit in very easily in the middle, whereas tredrea and thurstans were too tall and felt lost themselves up the ground.
I really think Cam Cloke should be brought back this week to replace Fanning. Josh needs to put in a big one against King in the ruck. Cam Cloke can provide another forward option. Possibly a stay at home forward. At worst, Mooney harley or scarlett will have to man him up which release tarrant a bit. Then Cam can relieve Fraser in the ruck and allow fraser to play forward at times, just to keep the geelong defence unsettled. The geelong defence is fantastic when the game is played on their terms, unsettled them and they are not so solid. Our defence may have more agility with clement and maxwell able to play small and tall.
In the middle, possibly Ling vs Licuria should be a good matchup for us.
Burns vs Milburn (milburn is a very dangerous player when left loose)
Morrison vs Kelly
Holland up forward to provide a different avenue to goal, we may need to play short if geelongs defence gets ontop
Shaw vs Ablett- Probably the only one with enough pace to keep ablett quiet.
Really their, midfield is full of unknown players, hopefully our experience counts for a bit.
Toiugh game but ill tip pies by 14

Alot of people are talking about the Cats not having a dominant forward(s).
That is why they will give us a lesson I think. They are a side who has so many midfield options that kick goals, that there forwards only need a small return as opposed to what our forwards need to deliver for us to chalk up a win. There backline does not receive alot of accolades, but they get the job done & start alot of their thrusts forward from defence. Almost a game where we could flood our own forward line to lock the ball in and scrap goals.
Interesting style that Freo played last week, ugly but effective- more a one off I think. Wonder if MM has anything up his sleeve? I think we will struggle with whatever plan MM comes up with they are just so even across the park, as are we, except they generally are better, well, I should really say more advanced in there development as a team.
Will be a great test for the majority of youngsters, who knows, lets pray for a repeat result like the WCE game.

This game will make or break our season, we are hanging on by a string.. IF we can get over the line we are in for a good year... either way i hope we play attacking again, let taz drift and dids do whatever he wants, we might cause enough damage on the board to slip away with the win.. big game for our backs, and our forwards are going to need to kick goals, cara needs another 4-5.. we can win or loose by 30points.. I'm tipping us for a win then i'm putting money on us for the flag after this week or not...

Jimbeam is dead right, this is thegame that will define our season. Win it and we'l play finals, lose it & we may bid the mob good day.
Simple really, when we play at 100% we are unbeatable. We didnt play 100% against the Hawks & won anyway, but it wont happen this week. Trav & Egan have provided us with that little bit of sting we were missing up forward, but its been our kicking thats got us over the line the last 2 weeks, if we kick straight again we win.
The best news is the poor perfomances by stars like Licca, Burnsy, Johnno & Chad last week, so theyre due to play like they did against the weagles.
But again, 100% effort & we win, 90% effort & we lose.
Looking for a big show from Rusling this week, and another blinder from Daks.

PS: Watching the Willi/Bullants game on telly as I write. Cam looked much harder at the ball, and should get his spot back, as might Woewie or Lones (although I have a bad feeling about Lones).
We also underestimated the value of Josh last week, he looked back to his best. Great at ground level. I think he'll be the leagues premier ruckman next year.
BTW, that Willi game looks bloody great from a depth point of view!
