keep it up obree might get a good trade out of you yet
Saw egan do a couple of great kicks, def has great skills, prob still finding his feet in AFL so of course some kicks wont be 100% spot on, but how any collingwood sup could bag him in any way possible at the moment proves that they have NO IDEA AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked Julian Rowe's game today. Got free on the outer wing alot and used the ball well. His ball handling was a lot cleaner today. He has always been very good overhead but at ground level has fumbled and been responsible for turnovers in the past.
The most annoying part of the game was the second half of the second quarter. We returned to that ugly chipping and short game. Why?
Re next week I'd opt for an unchanged side barring injuries.

He did have 27 touches, but by God he was chipping them skyhigh and turning it over at will. Much better, but improvement is still there. Not BOG, for sure. Came into the game late, but save for that, was a turnover king early.35forever wrote:Hehe, Ahh, Canberra, you'll bite yer tongue off before you'll say anything nice about Cheesy! He has been vital in the 2 wins, yes he's made turnovers, because he's been doing EXACTLY what we needed, taking chances to get the ball moving!

Great game! LOved every minute of the first term, before I got sick in the 2nd term and has stomich pains for the reast of the day. Still a fantastic win, with the report to come soon. Game notes:
-Cara = great pick-up
-Tazza was good
-Rusling looks the goods
-Travis Cloke will be this weeks Rising Star
-Rowey was solid, if unspectacular. Won his own ball and his foot skills are on the improve.
-Swanny was terrific. Now a first selected player
-Fraser great second half
Match Review to come!

No need for Cole. Swan is doing nicely.
Possibly id be thinking of Lockyer out, woey in. Or better yet yakka in.
I dont think the fact that our midfield was smashed today should be overlooked. Between Licuria, Burns, Johnson and Morrison, they still didnt have the same touches as Mitchell. Lockyer with 17 actually looked good i suppose.
However, Geelong have a multipronged attack unlike hawthorn who solely rely on williams so our midfield will have to be better.
But no need to worry about that now, we can think about that come monday. For now, lets take pleasure in a great solid win where our top midfielders were well held and our second tier players fired and our defence is starting to earn the credit it deserves. And most importantly, our forward line is dangerous once more. Imaging if the midfield starts winning the ball and giving them regular delivery! Didak firing and Josh winning hitouts will really help that.
How our forward line was dangerous considering the lack of supply is amazing. And this has a lot to do with Obree.
I agree, Obree's disposal lets him down, and it always will. The fact of the matter is that he was the only one getting the thing down there. Tarrant, Rusling, Egan, Didak and Trav Cloke made it impossible for the hawks to clear our area. Egan let off some beautiful handballs in close which opened up didak and caracella. Trav was breaking up packs allowing caracella to run free, as was Tarrant. Tex and Cam were not breaking up the packs as Rusling and Trav and Tarrant were. They are a gutsy 3. Cam is a much needed player i reckon when he learns to break up packs because we will be very hard to evacuate the defence to. With didak and caracella along with egan at ground level, it is a deadly combination. Today we showed that it didnt take pinpoint accuracy to hit targets, the important thing was to get the fricken thing down there quickly which obree was doing. Our efficiency was good considering the hawks had about 60 more touches than us.
Get the ball down there and let your forwards contest. WIth big athletic bodies, it is a deadly mixture. Im loving it and as i said, imagine if the midfield supplied it to them regularly.

Some observations.
1. Egan can kick
2. O'Bree's has his limitations, but his work around the ruck today was the difference between us winning and losing.
3. Swan is a very good footballer
4. T. Cloke is a superstar in waiting
5. Thank God we didn't trade Didak
6. Fanning isnt ready - SOS Richards
7. Presti, Wakelin and Clement are the backbone of the team.
8. Licuria never gave up. Watch out Geelong
9. Rusling showed enough to keep me excited
10. Shaw - Kudos to MM for keeping the faith
11. Caracella - 2 bags of 5 goals, need I say more
12. Love your work Holland
13. Burns - FFS, keep him on the park

So you would have moved them to the Donny-Approved thread did you, according to the Donny-Approved rules of course.MAGFAN8 wrote:The posts referring to Mark McGough were deleted.
Not because of their puerile nature, they were simply off topic.
Seriously, who cares if there is a little diversion, this is a bulletin board ffs not the united nations.
Get back on top.
