Cam is a natural Ruckman, Tex is a natural FF. Trav is a natural CHF. All 3 capable of being best in league in those possies. I wish we'd just accept this, it seems so bloody obvious. Problem is that if Rusling is anything like as good as his rep, we've got 2 natural great FFs.
What a good problem. From unable to field a team to an embarrasment of riches. Next season it will be US that are unable to fit everybody under the salary cap, and having teams sniffing about!

But then having ten champions isnt the way to win a flag, having a champion team who know each other and play as a unit is the objective. That was proven beyond doubt on Saturday. Johnno, Licca, Cheesy, Burnsy, Rhyce, and Dutchy are quite incredible at this when they're confident. So are Wakes, Jimmy & Presty down back, and Taz, Daks, Pebbles and Lones up forward. Chad & Cara are slotting in remarkably well, and as long as we get Maxy, Rowe, Egan & Trav etc, to take over as others retire we'll be a side to fear for years.
The most vital link in this chain is MM. He has built this level of drilling & fluency, and we need him for the next 5 years at least. And while this is a great base for the future, its also a side capable of winning NOW. As long as they work as hard as they did on Saturday they will beat all comers. This team could win every game from now to the GF.
They probably wont, because confidence is such an unpredictable thing, but they COULD.

Tex is a natural FF - Hardly a natural anything, and I think the kid has potential!
Cam & Tex might have servicable careers, but I doubt very strongly that they'll ever be the best in the league in ANY position.
I think I need to smoke some of what you're on!

Cam is on stand-by to replace Josh, who is in doubt for the match.
He's no natural ruckman, but he's got a bloody lovely leap and is as competitive as you'd ever want a bloke to be. I'm happy to accept his short-comings as a ruckman because he'd never have been playing there if both Fraser and Richards were fit and healthy.
Fanning has been another interesting revelation of the season. Young, but big and strong, and looks to have loads of natural ability. I've seen vast improvement in his play from his first game. Last Saturday, he proved immensely valuable around the ground and we won more than our fair share of clearances despite him losing in the hitouts.
If it ever comes to a choice, I'll settle for a bloke with skill limitations but unlimited competitiveness, rather then a skilful bloke who goes missing every week, any day.

Finally, some positive posts
and I tell you what, bugger all of this let's dog it for draft picks, there is nothing more humiliating than an wooden spoon. Look at the Saints, all those last placing and subsequent draft picks and they are still crap.
As for the Pies against Hawthorn, should get up by a few goals, especially if Paul Licuria is still firing. Go Presti, I still haven't got over you getting mark of the day over flabby aresed Richardson.
All I hope is that Fraser is used sparingly, let young Fanning do his best.

I still reckon Rocca got that goal
We didn't get our 40 acres and a mule

Cam is a natural ruckman. He has the correct build & height, he has the neccesary competitive nature, and has an excellent leap. That is the definition of a natural ruckmen, yet you experts are able to dismiss the notion with sarcasm & even felt a need to insinuate drug use on my behalf. Charming!
If you disagree, try putting up an argument.
Cam simply doesn't work hard enough. He isn't committed enough to his game, and isn't at this point willing to commit to winning the ball to the neccesary degree. These are easily alterable circumstances. Given his build, ability, and genes, how is it possible that he could never be the best ruckman in the AFL if he put in hard enough, both on & off the field?
Tex is the perfect build for a FF. He has excellent strength & overhead abilities, and can kick. Again, explain why he could not be as good as Lloyd or Gherig if he put in the work.
Johnno, I dont believe that every team is capable of winning 15 or so games on end. In fact I believe that possibly us & West Coast are the only ones.

For a footy player, Cam is bordering on being a fat ass. Whitnal looked no worse when he was sent up to fat farm.
Needs to shed just a tiny bit of weight for the sake of mobility and turn the rest into muscle.
Too often I see him running around half paced.
Look at Travis... Trademark cloke thighs, built upper body with not too much fat.
Judge Cam when he is actually fit. Not now.
As for us winning this week... I caved in and tipped us... I have a feeling my stupidity will see me get knocked out of first place

Should be a good game but one that we really should win comfortably.
With Hawthorn coming off a 6 day break from Perth I would think every Magpie supporter and his dog will be looking for some tanking action if we lose this one because it will be a sign that we really are not up to it.
Having said that I'm sure the boys will go out there and do well, our midfield will have to perform well again because the Hawk midfield is one of the most competitive in the competition and if Everitt, Mitchell, Crawford and Co get things their own way we could have a real fight on our hands.
