I love attitude and it is part of collingwoods tradition in its players and supporters, but it seems a bit early yet to be following in the footsteps of Capper, Brereton and alike.
I like it. Fantastic that they have it in their ealry stages. WIll help them develop a cult following in the comp.

Leave him go - I suspect he has learnt his lesson! Was in Perth this week and the media there were bagging the crap out of him. Looking fwd to the WCE 'away game' whenever it is.

I didn't think it was showponying either, he was just excited, nothing wrong with that.

Was an awesome game, I'd love to see games like that more often!!

Good that Swan is back in, hes better than Cole, Cole ALLLLWAYS tries to outrun everyone and gets run down fairly often which is quite annoying.

yeah well Hawthorn is a must-win of course if we have any chance of making the finals... remember if we win this we're 3-7, still bad, but still in the race for the finals, if only just. Performances like Saturday's will put us in the mix for sure.

Ahh, that's where yer wrong Johnno! You're being too harsh on Wet Toast. I'm sure they'll still make the finals despite the loss to us! :D :D :D

I'll be flamed mercilessly no doubt, but what's all this: "looking good for 2006" shite??? Check yer calenders kids, its 2005 this year!

I know we want to keep it quiet, but we're 3 games away from fifth spot on the ladder FFS! There is no WAY we'll miss playing finals if we play like that from here on in. And all we need is 8th. It's still a simple matter of winning 3 finals and you're in the granny, and we wont be facing Brizroy!

But of course the tiny conjunction 'if', which is tenaciously holding the last clause to the second sentence in the above paragraph, is not yer average, everyday conjunction. No, it's a biggie to be sure, but we'll know all we need to know in about 4 days.

The hawks are playing their best footy in several years, and are exactly the team we need to be meeting after that win. Wet Toast didn't need to beat us (oh, dont get me wrong, they tried their best), the Hawks need to make every post a winner.

And therein lies an excellent segue to the behaviour of Mr. Egan. The example of young Mark Williams who cut the hair and the wanker antics this season is a lesson to every young kid playing the game. He has played incredible football this year because he's decided to worry about his game and not about his marketing potential.

Now don't go getting all huffy on me, he played an excellent game, and is just the spark we've been missing up front without Neon, but two games does not a footballer make, and he has to put in a hell of a lot of hard work before he's ready to be flipping birdies at anybody. I admit, I enjoyed seeing it, but this kid has the balance & litheness to be a true champion, and this will only happen if he watches his captain, and emulates the way that man goes about his football. Work your arse off, start working on your skills after everyone else has gone home, have a Sherrin in your hand every waking moment, and above all DON'T believe the shite people will write about you being the next Daicos or Ablett.

The potential is all there, but the skills need a LOT of work, and the attitude has to be proffessional always. Egan is SO lucky to have one of the true greats to model his attitude on, and he & the other kids, especially Travis, need to get every ounce of learning they can from the great man while they have him.

We CAN win the flag this year if we are good enough to show the intensity we showed last week against a team who are desparate and playing well.

PS: Can we have some kind of award for best signature-thingy to go to LLoyd Christmas? Well done mate! You made coffee come out of my nose!
