Good. Stuff losing and f*rk priority picks. I wanna win.

But, I'll tell you something.

Whilst Rocca may not even return this season (although he said last week he'd like to get back for the last four rounds, help the team to win and establish some confidence going into the pre-season), Buckley will, and probably within the month. I read about him running 10 kilometres to the airport in NZ last week and there's no harder trainer around. Fraser and Richards will slot straight back into our best team as well. So, too should Leon Davis, in a midfield role ("Ego" and Caramello have just about tied up the small forwards roles for the rest of the year) rotating off the bench, were we can best use his pace. Cole will come back maybe as early as next week. And, since Malthouse has mentioned a number of others to be given games, I also think Lonie will slot back into the side sooner rather than later. Competition for places in this side is going to hot up even more.

So, there's lots of improvement left in us yet. And. yes, I agree that playing the kids will win us a lot more games this year.

I'm still thinking finals. And we'll get there. And, when we do, we're going to cause an awful lot of damage. This is panning out to be a very even season and I'm afraid of no-one. The blokes recovered their attitude and confidence yesterday, in spades. We can go on from here.

My gut feeling tells me we're getting back into 2002/03 mode.

I am not out to bag the guy - rather just comment on what I saw in the game. And it seems like a win brings out the 'rose coloured glasses' - the win seems to have masked 'cheesy's' mistakes. Granted he did some good things in the game but he made a lot of mistakes, got dragged at the end of the first and played wide of Banfield when it counted in the third. Made stuff ups in the last which definately cost us one goal.

I'll grant you he had a go................but he is not in our best 22. He looks ok when we are winning but looks the worst when we are losing.

"We're stacking our side for the future and looking to the future with our kids," he said.

Egan, Travis Cloke and Fanning all played critical roles in Collingwood's seven-goal final term, which saw the team come from eight points behind, to win by almost four goals in front of 31,105 fans.

Malthouse said his club would continue to blood youngsters such as Sean Rusling and Brent Hall and develop the list with players such as Adam Iacobucci.

"If you keep replacing injured senior players with spent senior players, you won't get anywhere," Malthouse said.

i know as a collingwood supporter the games you must win are essendon and carlton but when you live in western australia it is a little different it freo and eagles at home and freo and eagles away. we have been getting it off them all year and to get that win was fantastic so now we can stick it right up them.

The best thing about yesterday's win is that the players backed themselves against the best team in the comp (to this point) and came out on top.

Mick's words before the game sounded encouraging and they delivered. This team does have a lot of talent and I hope yesterday was the corner we needed to turn.

Stuff the priority picks, we're still good enough to play and win finals if we use that approach each week.

Mate, I was thinking about you when I saw the Pies paying around $4.50.

I reckon that win paid for more than the snags !

I genuinely think that the real hard call down at Lexus at the moment is who is going to stay and who is going to leave at year end. Lets say they have to choose 5 to delist (meaning 4 or 5 picks in the top 50 at ND). Possibly more given they will want to promote Davies and Fanning from the rookie list (if not more). I suspect they will want to create 7 spots.

I suspect Lokan and Williams are there already. It then comes down to a whole raft of senior players who may or may not attract a trade like Obree, Lonie, Woey, Walker. Or will they cut some of the young kids who are taking time to develop eg Shaw boys, Morrison, Hall, King.

If you assume 7 then I would think at this stage it looks like, Morrison, Hall, King, Obree, Williams, Lokan and King. I would hope Hall would get redrafted onto rookie list and possibly Morrison as well.

Whoever said the comp is on for spots should keep this in mind. A lot of blokes are playing for their career - and that should be a good thing for supporters.

we have depth. Compared to teams like st.kilda and port, brisbane and essendon, we have depth. No other team would be able to cover the injuries we've had and stay compettiive

Hugor wrote:I think your being harsh on O'Bree. Did bloody great today and deserves credit. If he could always play like that we would be a much better team.
He continued to pass the ball to the opp. Yeh he tried hard but so did McGough and we know what happened to him.
