If ever there was a umpire that nearly caused a riot it was this clown.

Couldn't Kick
Couldn't Mark
& Can't Umpire

He is a disgrace and won't be umpiring AFL next week.

Thought Fanning was excellent against arguably best ruck combination in the league.

Agree Yarra Falls, great to see Fanning really throw his name up in the lights.

one word summed up today: SPIRIT

some of my observations:

Egan - this guy's exciting, jumps very high runs very quick
Swan - hard/tough/servicable again today as he was last week, is a handy guy to have out there with so many light bodies in the side
Trav - has real presence
Tazza - straightened us up
Rhyce - I reckon with all the injuries he now takes the role as one of the leaders on the field and he hasnt looked back since, it could be the making of him
Fanning - improved again today
Presti - playing career best football (how did he catch Sampi?)

The crowd was disappointing I thought. I was sitting ground level in the GSS but I may as well have been in Perth, We were outnumbered like you wouldn't belive.

we coulda dropped our head when they got to 13 points ahead and we'd all have said honourable defeat but they decided to win it instead. Eagles cant handle the 'G'. If they make the big one after 2 home finals which is a distinct possibility you'd love to be playing 'em in the GF.

Feel like a clairvoyant - seen the future of the Pies today. It may be a distant future but the signs are good. I'm feeling pretty happy so the players most be stoked. Let's enjoy this week and bring on the Hawks.
Also well done to Jimmy and the boys for acknowledging th CS at the end of the game.

Oh, you will care... One day

I was hoping they would be competitive enough to finish 9th.

I would have very much liked to see their harry potter cup list perform well enough to keep them away from decent picks.

It would have delayed their progress

Fanning was very good. Competed well at the stoppages and had a crap free paid against him. Also took a nice contested grab to. He and Richards in tandem would release Fraser to permanent fwd like Gardiner!

Egan is exciting - if they can create space for him in the fwd line he will be excellent.

I saw someone say Maxwell was in the three worst - think they were watching the wrong game. He had Sampi in the first half and Sampi only had two touches. Was only taken off him because of matchups in that Sampi started in the midfield after half time. Maxwell was pushed fwd and was ultimately taken off because of the need for quick legs.

Lockyer was tremendous - good run off half back and kicking was a feature.

Johnson - thank god MM finally realised this bloke needs to be in the action. His kicking was good and decision making excellent.

Didak - gave the fwds some fight. got under their skin.

Obree - just finished watching second half again and he was ordinary. Not sure how someone said he was top 5. if we lost he would have been the one people would have pointed the finger at. Made some horror errors. But had a go. Did do two nice things in the last qtr.

Holland, Shaw and Burns v good. Lica good but wish he would hit targets.

On Maxwell, someone else said Clement was on Sampi and held him to 0 touches in the 1st qtr atleast

Clement was on Hansen. Hansen kicked a goal on him and led him to the footy a fair bit. Clement tookk control towards the end of the qtr and then had Hansen taken from the ground in the second. Came back on in third and Clement went to him again.

We had 'em in our back pockets all day!

Apart from the first ten minutes, anyway. But, even though we were three goals down, my gut was still giving me hell and I never doubted 'em.

Terrific effort. Stuff finishing last and getting a priority pick. This is a seriously bloody good side we've got. Travis has slotted into CHF as if he had been playing there for a decade, not half a dozen games and Egan is gunna be a superstar! A tremendous game from Caracella, arguably the best I've ever seen him play. Taz was very strong at FF despite not getting a single free kick; Glass did everything bar kick Taz in the balls and yet came away with two free kicks given to him! Magnificent efforts from the midfield, especially Licca, Burns, Holland and Johnno. And plaudits for Rhyce Shaw. Not content with hard running and superior disposal, he's learning how to make space on the forward line and looks to be adding an extremely sharp footy brain to his skillset. He's becoming one helluva dangerous player. Another very solid effort from the backline who stood their ground despite some very effective moves by Worsfold at halftime, which they struggled to adapt to, but they persisted. And despite what the hitouts stats show, we just shaded the Weagles on centre clearances, simply because Fanning made every centre bounce a contest and gave our mids every opportunity to take the ball away. His second efforts were astonishing for a bloke of his size. When Fanning was rucking, we dominated.

I have no complaints to make. This was a tremendous effort and every single player wearing the guernsey gave his all. They had the right attitude, gave it a red hot go and I dips me lid to 'em all for coming over to salute the supporters at the end. The Ponsford was rocking!

Gees, the beer in the social club after the match tasted pretty bloody good!
