A few real positives so far, Fanning giving us real contest against one of the best rucks in the comp, getting rid of Walker and retaining Fanning is showing immediate rewards.
Holland has played everywhere from half back to forward pocket and a ton of run with roles over the last couple of years but given a bit of time and freedom in the midfield looks to be a brilliant in and under midfielder, could we have had a Josh Carr, Roger James type at our club all this time and not have even noticed it?

proving yet AGAIN that we are good enough to beat anyone playing the game, so why is it that we WILL die in hte second half? Probably the last quarter. I mean look at us, we're 13 up, playing fantastic running football and yet are no chance of winning this game!
This is ridiculous! Dont tell me this is injuries or recruiting, we won thefirst 2 quarters, and not because wet toast are playing badly but because we are playing to the standard we are obviously capable of. We are BEATING them. So why will it stop shortly? Is it simply fitness? We'll probably come out of this fantastic first half with a sixty point loss.
WHY??????????????????????
I dont think I can even watch the second half, I'm just gonna watch the first half again & pretend.

My computer died last night, but I was gonna post that we will either lose by 80+, match them for 3 quartres and lose by less than 3 goals, or - even - win the game. I knew it wouldnt be a straight first v last 30-40 point win - it never is with us!
Like I keep saying, we DO know how to play the game, we just dont know how to WIN, which is a whole different art that we are not bothering to learn. It is a mental skill, and until we figure that out & start learning it we will end up like today the "gallant" magpies.
I'm so freaking sick of being called "gallant" this year! It means you're good enough but dont know how to win.

I have another theroy.
I think we carry too much weight. Take a look at Rocca - if he turns an ankle he really does a job on it. Not only does too much weight contribute to injuries but its harder to turn and redirect. I recon we may see some success soon as so many younger lighter lads are coming in to even us out
just a thought
