C2 got concussion in the first quarter, left the ground and went up the race. He came back at quarter time and did some skills work with one of the coaches. He came back onto the ground during the 2nd quarter, where he received the 'love tap' but because he'd already had concussion, it affected him a lot more than it would have if he hadn't. That is why he left the ground and didn't come back.lethalburns wrote:Great effort... Just one thing
C2 off with concussion after receiving a fairy tap to the face. Eh?
Then MM comes out and emphasises that we struggled when we lost C2 as a target.
If C2 was so important why did they leave him on the bench. My grandma has slapped me harder than the tap Cam received in the 3rd.
Pencil in the spoon I think we are making extra effort to lose games.
Not to mention our primary ball winner, BJ was taken off the ground for most of the 2nd half. No injury.
I was surprised that Burns and Johnson were both benched at the same time at least twice during the game.

Just finished watchin' replay. Havn't read other threads yet. Just want to say, well done pies!. For the players we had in it was a gutsy effort up until the last 13 min. or so, tired in the end, understandable. Brilliant game from Clemo, Presti and Wakes, regardless of Browns freak efforts. Rhyce continues to shine. Egan looks promising and if I was a Collingwood youngster just grasping the game, I'd be frantically sewing on a number 32 on my back, Travis is gunna be great. Can't ask much more of the guys today ,its just good to see that we have something to build on. Always disappointing to lose, but I saw a lot of commitment and endevour today. The body language is excellent,' specially with Rhyce now. He used to make a mistake, then drop his head and you could sense he felt the pressure. Now, sure he still makes a few mistakes, but no dropping the head , and gets straight back to the action. Only disappointments today imo, Tarks, still not hard enough.Got some easy disposals in last qtr and tried. Rowey, I'm a big fan, still gotta be in the ones, but fumbled alot today and was a bit outa sinc. Same as Fanning, timing is out, endevour is good though. All in all , pretty pleasing....for a shitty year!
Enjoy yourself. Its later than you think!

Richmond will not make the finals on today's effort. They played what was probably the worst line-up to ever represent the Collingwood Football Club. It took them until half-way through the last quarter to get on top. The scoreboard flattered them enormously because their opposition for the last 15 minutes consisted of witches' hats.
As for us ... I was utterly disgusted. That last quarter fade-out was THE most inept display I have ever seen from a Collingwood team ... fortunately I was spared last week's debacle because I don't have pay TV.
Egan can't kick ... The last thing Collingwood needs is another player who can't kick.
Fanning is like one of those big stupid dogs ... you know the one in that cartoon who is always running around saying "Which way did he go? Which way did he go?"
And Cameron Cloke ... please ... just f%k off ... you are a heartless gutless nobody with a famous daddy ... please ... just go away.
Shaw brought back some traumatic memories when he bounced the ball and lost it ... Fortunately Richmond was too inept to capitalise on the mistake ... unlike Brisbane on that day best forgotten.
This season is only going to get worse. Sure we've got a lot of players out, but most of them are either over-the-hill or were never any good any way.
We will never be a decent team again until EVERY single player who played in the 2003 Grand Final is gone. That game has tainted the Club ... and it could take a decade to recover.
The only mildly amusing note to today was the sight of all those Richmond supporters clapping like trained seals as their team went through its training drill in the last quarter ... and patting each other on the back at the end of the game as if they'd actually achieved something. They haven't. They are one very mediocre team. They will have a season similar to Collingwood's 1997 effort (when we were 6-2 and finished up well down the ladder)

Egan is a damn 18yo kid the size of a stick, who knocked up 16 touches and was in our top 6/7 players on debut.
Oh but hey, his first few kicks were full of nerves. Better jump on and write him off.
What a heroic post Alf.
I'm surprised you didnt sit with the Richmond cheer squad after reading that shit.

Someone agrees with me. Good.bucks_for_brownlow wrote:Why are we accepting losing? Now, considering I saw none of the game, and don't really know how it was played today I can't really give a comment, but on the numbers alone, when we were leading at every quarter and led 7-8 minutes into the last quarter, there has to be a little bit of a concern of how we just capitulaed when we lost the lead?
Mm, maybe it was different I don't actually know, but at no stage should we accept the loss since we were in the game for so long.
We were pathetic.

Travis and Cameron Cloke looked sensational today. Of course our first choice forwards are out injured, but these young lads stepped up well. They presented and contested hard all day, Trav in particular. He's quick and agile and has a thumping left foot. I was rapt watching these 2 trouble the defence. The backline is looking quite solid, with Clement, Wakelin and Presti dominating most of the day. The midfield is where we fell down again.
Some very positive signs today and some real talent coming through. Once the big guns are back we will be looking good. Get some nice high draft picks this year, chase some gun midfielders in trading and bring on 06.
