Yeah but once again a reliance on a few players. I remember in 2002/2003 we had multiple goal kickers.swooper wrote:Don't forget no Rocca, or Taz...makes kicking goals a wee bit difficult...stoliboy wrote:We kicked 8 goals in a game of football.
Even with Rocca and Tarrant in the side we were struggling to kick large scores.
The entire team is sick to the core... coach, football department... only shining light is Eddie who we need to show leadership and dig us out of this hole!

We just can't take a bloody trick at the moment!!!!
Injuries, injuries and more injuries are shi**ing me beyond comprehension.
Who have we pi**ed off this time to have a spell cast upon us?
Our 2 starting ruckman, our 2 main tall forwards (1 is VC), our Captain and leader of the midfield possibly the greatest ever magpie, our liveliest and flashiest forward.....
All Freakin' OUT!!!
Taz replaced in side by C2 (another tall) who then himself gets injured and reduces the bench to 3 fit players therefore minimizing the rotations.
and options.
I'm not saying that we are the best team but for heavens sake can we at least get some of our best players on the ground instead of playing with half of Willi's team and half of the senior team.
Injuries shouldn't generally be used as excuses, but this is becoming a joke.'
Melbourne just proved that it is difficult to win with your main players out.
They were hit hard with players out for the 1st time this year and lost to the 2nd bottom team.
We on the other hand have had that curse on us all year.
NOT FAIR!!!!

First before i comment i want to congratulate nicks posters because there was no news yesterday on chris tarrant yet i came on hearan learnt about the injury. Nicks is really a great source of reliable information. The news came from members who attended training. Keep it up.
Onto the game. You gotta be happy with that. Presti again shows why he is so important and demonstrated why jason cloke will continously struggle to get into the side. Clement must be applauded. Brown was held all day and although he went crazy in the last quarter, Clements effort single handedly kept us in the game. In this time where we were dominating, we just lacked the forward presence to capitalize on our backs effort. If we had a forwad line, it wouldnt have mattered how many brown kicked in the last quarter because we wouldve had a match winning lead. Cam leaving early really affected us considering he showed a bit early. Fannings inclusion was the right decision because it allowed walker and cloke to show a bit up forward. Each looked lively early in their favourite position in my opinion.
The young midfielders were ok. The biggest criticism would be again disposal and composure. Although Egan looked great, his disposal was poor but he has a lot of flare. Rowe was the most dissapointing. ALthough he continues to show good skill and ball winning abilities, he lets himself down far to often. Today he backed back into packs a few times and took a few good marks, however his game will be remembered for costly turnovers. Davies showed a little bit again
This criticism is not a bad one for players as young as this. Egan was obviously nervous so we can forgive him here. Rowe however shows so much potential. He is young, has little game time behind his belt and will improve on his compusure and turn himself into a handy footballer. When he learns to calm down with the ball and not rush his kicking he will be good. He must look closely at a player like Dal Santo. However it will come. The fact that he is getting the ball and shows guts and marking abilities gives me encouragement because we all know he has very good kicking skills on both sides of the body. Its just a matter of bringing these skills into the game. He will get 20+ touches one game this year and really make a mark.
A spirited effort, plenty to be happy about considering we had injuries during the game again and Tarrant pulled out early. Johnson, Presti and Fanning into the side added a bit i reckon.

Take out from the Tigers linep Couglan (Buckley), Richardson (Tarrant), Simmonds (Rocca), Krakour (Davis), Brown (a fit Didak), Stafford-Richards cancels each other, they don't have a player to match Fraser in value IMO, and then insert the injured Pies in brackets into our lineup and how much would we have won by???
35 points???
Easily.
Injuries are everything.

Good effort. They all did put in, but were broken by class. Brown has class, something we didn't have ar Caracella. With our full side in we'd have murdered them. Burnsy was great as usual, and Travis Cloke still gives us some excitement. That bloke wll end up a gun. Chris Egan played terrifically well. His pace is brilliant, and he gives us something. His skills were shoddy, but it was his first game, and he was clearly nevous. He will be a very good footballer. What else? Presti was great, Clemo good for three quarters, Didak and Johnson reliable and gave run. Rowe shows more class, but his kicking lets us down. The loss of Tarrant really burnt us. He has class, as does Fraser, Buckley, Rocca and Leon Davis. We are crippled, but for once we toughed it out. Well done, a comendable effort. I'm proud of them.

Rowie hit his head on the turf in the first quarter and didn't look quite right after that - physio out to him a few times during the game.
Richo is Presti's b*tch and the rest of the backline did a great job for the first three quarters - although Johnno looks out of sorts.
And Chris Connolly was right about Wallace and the Tigers - just look at what happened to C2 behind play!! No wonder he has concussion!!!

best was probably scott burnsCaution: Hot Pies wrote:Who were our best and worst??
worst may have been young rowe unfortunately because of 5 clangers from about 10 or less touches. Ill get the actual tally there.
Walker was ok. Cam Cloke started good but came off concussed.

i'll say Clement was in the best,i don;t care if Brown kicked 5 on him he was still in the best players(maybe i am 2 easyily pleased).
I know being competative dosn't win games but at least they showed they could compete and i don;t care if it is just Richmond after last week,i was proud of them(call me stupid if u like).
I hope they persist with young players like Egan,T.Cloke etc and don't just put them down to Williamstown again next week.
Prestigiacomo's mark was good to c
