Lica
Everyone keeps going on about how "unwell" Lica is.... is he sick or what? I mean is it the flu? Has he got fatigure syndrome... I mean geez.....
I thought they boys battled valiantly yesterday..... as per usual ... luck and the umpires deserted us when we needed it.... the umpiring decision in the opening minutes of the last quarter was one of the all time biggest friggin umpiring stuff-ups ever.... disgraceful and again helped them to get away.
We'll be right... sadly might have to wait until round 11 before we start to get a few more wins on the board.

What I would like to see happen to improve next week.
O,bree (Should be dropped but will get another go because had a blinder at subiaco against freo last season. that's mm horses for courses theory)
Lockyer (willi for confidence..sad as used to be great)
Cole (Tried in middle where mistakes are not so costly)
The inclusions depend on fitness and who performed well at Willi

Do you have any idea whatsoever? The kid played his first game, after about 6 weeks off due to injury, plus time spent in hospital because of an infection, and he then came straight back into the seniors, without playing a game at Williamstown to gain match fitness. He managed to kick two goals, but was entirely stuffed by the end of the game because the aforementioned reasons. You are a @#$$@#$# disgrace for calling Fraser a disgrace. Get a clue.eddiesmith wrote:Also, why the **** are people supporting Fraser? Up forward he was an absolute &^*%$^%$ing disgrace, didnt even &^*%$^%$ing try half the time

That's funny, I seem to remember him taking a fantastic contested mark yesterday - oh yeah, and he goaled from it.eddiesmith wrote:Fraser never provided a contest, he just stuck his arms in the air and made no attempt to mark and let them run it away for an easy goal countless times, Fraser was &^*%$^%$ing weak today

They done ok in the first 2, but once presti got done it was over, totally messed the back dynamics, then jimmy and johno went.. Locks played terrible so did OB, time for the kids and lones to come back in and start thinking about our future... We just did not have the cattle on the field to win this game, beaten by a far more skilled unit.
I would like to c locks, OB and 2 others dropped next week and woey, rusling, lones and heater in. Cannot wait for davidson to get a run finally.. Hopefully he can hold down FF so we can move taz around on the half forward line..

Ok.. I am still not quite over the loss and the fact that there was little improvement but here goes..
The Bulldogs, Crows and Essendon games were all there to be won. Yet no one stood up and took it upon themselves.
Yes we were close.. but not close enough!!!
It was like yesterday... players did not stand up except for maybe Rhyce Shaw who has been our best the past two weeks IMO. When they got the football, handballing was always the best option, even hospital jobs- Kick it long, at least we have a chance instead of f*cking it up in the middle of the ground and then find ALL these free St Kilda players.
Tarrant has 3 players on him at every contest.... and the disposal to him has been dreadful.
Tarkyn has been disappointing and he still lacks confidence which is a worry as he has been back for a while now.
Brodie is out of form. He is usually a good kick for goal but let us down in that department yesterday.
Tackling was just an utter disgrace!
To me, it appeared the players just didn't want get to get blown out of the water. The game is there to be won, yet they were playing defensive football.
Mick may want them to play possession football, but they don't currently have the skills to equip that game plan.
I use the injury excuse as much as anyway but the bottom line is thats the situation and the players have to deal with it. The game plan has to deal with it.
Hopefully there is some improvement next week from all the boys
I feel for them...

Last, but a long way from being out of it. When the selection committee dumped Williams and Woewoeful, I said I'd be more than happy enough if it resulted in the players have a red hot go. It wasn't quite a red hot go, but the attitude was a helluva improvement on last Monday. I didn't think Tex would go when the final bench was named and events sure proved that he would have been handy to have around, being flexble enough to play forward, back and ruck, plus he has more pace than Wakelin and C1, so might have been a great match up against Gehrig; Fraser was as underdone as I thought he would be and it would have been far better that he played at Willi for a couple of weeks to get back to match fitness. Coming straight back into the seniors after a debilitating illness is not good for either the player or the team.
And yet, with ten minutes to go in the third quarter, we're within a kick, having blown a chance to get five goals in front at quarter time. Cara missed an absolute sitter late in the third which would have kept us in it, but I agree with those who say the turning point was Presti's injury, leaving us woefully exposed against Gehrig (C1 knockers please note: it was Wakelin who was matched against Gehrig in the 3rd quarter when he kicked the Saints to the lead they never after relinquished and it was downright deadset embarrassing watching Gehrig repeatedly sprint ten yards clear of Wakelin for a simple mark, so blame Wakes, not C1, OK?).
It was nice to see Julian Rowe get extensive game time for once and I must admit I love this kid. Like Didak, he oozes class and took some lovely contested marks. He needs a bit of polish, but that will come with more gametime and I hope Mick gives him loads of it for the remainder of the season. It was also nice to see Shawy cope with the backhanders; just shrug them off, son, you're getting them because the opposition is now getting awfully worried about you. His pace is giving him that extra second to steady and assess his disposal options and more and more, he's making good choices.
Loved having the three Clokes all on the ground as well. Travis is a mont for CHF for the rest of the year (what a left foot this kid has!) and, as soon as Richards is back in the side, Cam can get back into the forward line where he played with distinction last year and should get time to settle back into it. It was tremendous seeing C1 back in defence. Gee, I just love this kid's competitiveness and desire for the ball. There's plenty of his more senior colleagues could take a leaf out of his book; he just bleeds for the guernsey and you have to love it. I also loved the way these kids stick up for each other. We just have to get harder and these three aren't backward in doing so.
A lovely, if not outstanding debut from Yakka. He showed signs and I hope he's persevered with. Another good game from Maxwell, but I don't understand why Mick even takes him off. Even if the direct matchup isn't all that suitable, he gives his all and I'd rather have him on the ground than sitting on the bench picking splinters from his a*se.
It's a shame about the spate of injuries on the day. That can't be helped and was probably a major factor in St Kilda getting away from us late in the game. Having said that, Gehrig's 8 goals showed this guy's class and makes me wonder why St Kilda can get three blokes to triple-team Taz but we can't against an opposition forward? There's something missing in the gameplan here, although I'd be prepared to say it was the injuries that caused it, but will confess to being deeply unsure of myself making that assessment. Until this week, we've done a great job shutting down the opposition's key forwards. Just so long as they all get back up for next week's game.
Frankly, I think Freo are beatable and they might be a bit complacent after beating Melbourne in Melbourne and seeing us sitting on the bottom of the ladder. Having said that, we can afford no passengers whatsoever. Unfortunately, I suspect Cheesy will keep his place as he started off well over there against them late last season. Mick remembers things like that. If anyone is going to go, it must be Lockyer. "Tippy-toes", as Cam calls him, is a deadset wimp. If he's not prepared to put his body on the line, then he has to stay at Willi until he proves otherwise. And I'm not sufficiently impressed with Woewoeful's game in the Two's to recall him. He let us down badly for five rounds in the Seniors, so let the pr*ck suffer for five weeks in the Two's as penance. He's also out of contract this year and he shouldn't get an easy ride to a new one. Let's put a side with a "stuff 'em" attitude on the field at Subiaco this week and I reckon we might pull off another upset.

Geezus leave Frazer alone....he has come back from injury,he is the only reliable centreman we have got at present.
Yesterday the centreline,1/2 forward and forward line fell down.....why,well we just dont have the capacity to have any one there.
I believe that this is simular to 2003 when trhe team was undermanned that when the guys did win a game it was so GREAT that every one knew about it.
We know that this year is STUFFED but well there is always next year.
I recon that you ought to give credit where credit is due,at leat Frazer got out there and HAD A GO.

The Fraser and Tex bashers here remind me of the Rheece bashers last year. They disappear quick smart once the players they knock come back to play great football. I dont care how many flames this will attract but I have ALWAYS said that Tex will be a gun once he is allowed to settle into one position. And I will be still here supporting the pies when he plays well unlike the Tex bashers who will disappear to the same planet that the Rheece bashers have all suddenly disappeared to.
