IF Collingwood play with much heart, endeavour, spirit, strength and purpose, and St Kilda underrate us and become over-confident, we could surprise them. My heart yearns for Collingwood to win but my head says otherwise. Saints by 16.

Yh an injection of youth can sometimes lift a side, so can the media on their backs. But Stkilda have looked good the last few weeks, gotta shutdown aussie jones and maguire as they have been key playmakers, im confident jimmy can restrict the G-Train. They are not unbeatable and there defence is a little suspect with penny out, tarrant had a field day against them last year, as they have no matchup for him, didak did well too.

But im with lazza on this one, heart says collingwood, head says saints by 22.

St Kilda will be too quick I think for us.. but I am still hoping and have all my fingers crossed that we will have a turn around this week.

We need pressure at every contest, strong tackles and take every opportunity out there possible, which means kicking straight at goals.
The boys need to back themselves.. we need a big effort from every single player.

My heart always says Collingwood and I would never have it any other way

we'll be going in as underdogs, and i think that will work to our advantage. in the games we lost, we were favourites, where as when we beat carlton, we had the longer odds.

Im not confident of winning this game at all.

I'm pobably going to be accused of being negative but I think the Saints to win by 80 points.

I hope we win but I cant see the players improving, as each week It's the same old story, it would be ok if one or two needed to lift but the whole side needs too.

Saints highest winning score is 68 against us in 1944, wouldn't suprise me if they beat that.

Just play like we did in 2002 - no guts, no glory. Attack from the outset, and keep rolling. Stick to our guns, and push them all the way. When they walk off, I want to feel proud of my team. The dream is out there - GO PIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Johnson looking at ur Avatar, made me think, will Mcgough be included against us?? Will no doubt have a blinder if he does play, the way things always go, except for once he might actually hit some collingwood players on the chest.....:)

St. Kilda all day. I am sorry, but on Monday's performance, we will be lucky to be within 5 goals of St Kilda

I'd like to see Goughy included - and I'd like him to put in a good performance - as I would Chipper. However, that can only happen if we win.

I agree with pies4premiers I was lucky enough to be in presidents lunch for Stkilda Richmond match, They looked great, carried the ball quick and direct and were very accurate in front of goal, had about 13 individual goal kickers, can't see us winning this one if we get within 5 goals I think we will have done well
No I better not look I just might be in there

This has "shellacking" written all over it. Our only hope is if it pisses down all day. If it dosent, it the Aints by about 5 goals, if we're lucky. I just hope a few young blokes get a run.

Is Lenny Hayes out, i know he has not been training with the injury he sustained against the tiges. But they are predicting he will play. Saints are injured like us however are on the verge of bringing a few players back such as riewoldt and powell. Doubt either will play this weekend, god i hope not.

This is the way i see it.

Saints look in terrific touch, however their last two wins have been against ordinary opposition. Ok, melbourne is a good side, but they lost bruce early and it seemed to shake them. Melbourne were with them all day apart from one bad quarter where the saints took control. Richmond were no good against them either, i was at the match also and do not think richmond really pushed them.

However that said, saints are an awesome outfit. How do we beat them.

The one thing in our favour is that the saints are not renowned flooders, nor are richmond or melbourne the teams they beat. Saints have also struggled against flooding teams. With our injuries, we will no doubt throw players back which could upset the g train up forward.

Ricmonds backline was only average. The key to beating saint kilda is keeping things low scoring, as their backline is average at best. That said hudgton is in great touch and maguire is looking great however is coming off a heavy knock. So with our backline in great touch, we are a real chance to frustrate the saints.

Saints are so reliant on big frase or hammil getting their goals. Dal Santo and Hayes, as good as they are, do not kick many goals. For a fast side, their midfield is unable to kick goals. The only player who is a real worry is luke ball. He is deadly accurate infront of goal. Even the great robert harvey is very average infront of goal. This makes it even more important that we hold the g train.

I have said all week we should not include jason cloke, however i must say this may be the one game cloke should be included. Hammil and gherig get physical. We need a big body like cloke to deal with it if hammil starts the rough stuff. Big Cam and Jason will not put up with any of it hopefully. Especially if guerra also lays some knocks. Wakelin, presti and maxwell as good as they are, are not big bodies. A big body like jason cloke may be required to not get scared to back into back or stand their ground with the g train at full steam.
I reckon Clement will go onto the inform Hammil whilst presti will take Gherig.
Maxwell may take kosi after an impressive display against lucas.

Matchups through the centre may be
Licuria vs Hayes
Burns vs Ball (must be tagged)
Shaw vs Dal Santo (the smooth moving dal santo is probably too quick for woewoedin especially considering woey's form. Give rheece the shut down role. Given Shaw's form, Dal Santo will be forced to play accountable, something he does not do. Shaw will even be faster than him.)
Holland vs Harvey ( Harvey will be on and off all day, but must be worn like a glove whilst on)
Cole vs Milne (tough one this, clement could be given the role possibly, however cole should be intrusted with this role)
Johnson vs Guerra

My smokey matchup for the week is Didak vs Aussie Jones. Teams are now realising that Aussie cannot be left alone to patrol the backline. His disposal is too good, he sets up too much play. Id love to see Didak go straight to the square and force aussie to play defensive on him. Didak is much better overhead and will more than match him pace wise.
The main reason for this matchup however is that Didak is obviously not 100% yet and will be rotated on and off the bench. Id rather see Didak on 95% of the match but just sitting up forward playing a shut down job on aussie. This way didak can ease his way back into form. It is also a different avenue to goal. Instead of bombing it long to Tarrant, we could try and isolate jones on Didak and Didak will beat him every time. Jones does not tackle, outmark or fist. He is just there for ball skills. Someone must play defensive on him and drag him to the goal square. Didak is perfect considering his injury and the fact that he cannot play large amount of time in the middle. Even if Jones decides to run off, Didak can go with him in the middle. Didak is just as punishing as Milne.

I know Didak's skills may be needed in the middle. However, im trying to think about having a forward structure. Our midfield is getting the ball out, but has nowhere to kick. Didak one out with Jones is a huge win and allows didak more game time.

Tarrant will most likely get Hudgton. Another huge win for us. Tarrant will outmark and burst him on the lead. Their backline is very sus.

So is their ruck division. Hopefully we get richards back. Ackland has been good this year, however is still not the best tap ruckman ive seen. Richards should do well. Im afraid Cloke would cop another bath in the ruck.

We can stretch them up forward.
F: Didak, Tarrant, C. Cloke
HF: Lonie, Trav Cloke, Caracella
C: Rowe, Licuria, Shaw
HB: Maxwell, Clement, J. Cloke
B: Johnson, Presti, Wakelin
Rucks: Richards, Burns, Holland

Bench: Morrison, Yakka, Woey, Cole

In: Richards, Lonie, Yakka, J.Cloke
Out: Williams, O'bree, Walker, Lockyer

Have to bottle them up through the centre, hold Gherig. We should find it easier to score goals. Usually, St.Kilda conceded big scores, however score such a big score themselves that they win comfortably. Thats why at a st.kilda game, you dont realise how much they are beating you by, because your scoring well yourselves. If we stop them or bottle them up, we have a real chance at winning. Probably a better match up for us than a flooding side at the moment.

However i find it hard that we will play so tight looking at how bad we were last week.

Saints by 30 minimum. If we play tight, us by 22.
There's more to life than footy.........just not much more.
