I am shattered but not suprised Williams get another game to show how mediocre he is. The most frustrating thing to watch week in week out.

Good luck to the other 21 that get a game though. Show Essendon why they are on the bottom of the ladder.

Hey guys,

Just joined up lovely to be apart of this forum, it gets me through my long days at work and you guys seem to be on the ball with what your talking about. Hope everyone saw my moment in the sun against Carlton when I got to be "Fan in the Outer" (must be the luck at the moment)

Our form has been good considering the cattle we have out, we were extremely unlucky to lose last week and if Rocca had finished we would have won by at least 5. Midfield is finding form, backline is amazing and will again stand firm, and the forward line will be where the game is won or lost.

In my opinion the forward structure MUST be the same as the first quarter last week. 3 pronged attack, Taz plays the same role, Tex steps strait into Rocca's roll, and Trav takes Tex's role. Look at the first quarter last week. Taz 1 goal 3 marks, Rocca 3 goals 3 marks, Tex 1 goal, 3 Marks, 1 score assist. This structure is right, and if they stick to this, we WILL win.

Thoughts anyone?

Also upset about Rowe and Max being interchange while Williams is part of the starting line up. I hope MM doesn't have issues with those two now.

Unfortunately, I am in agreeance with the tipsters :(

I'm starting to stress, no lonnie, king, and williams is still playing. If sheedy is being sly expect to c cupido, as he carved us up last year and we are going to find it hard to match him up again. And solo, ravioli, ty(this guys is a idiot) are in. I was expecting lonnie to be back and full of go for neon, with king to replace willo.. We must beat them in the mid and run all over them from the back, go long and hope tex,c2,c3 can contend and mark to help taz.. One of those 3 must step up to secure the win.. Sheedy is desperate and the dons are using this as a season builder, i reckon this will back fire in shadys face.. Still not as confident but no excuses we must win this so bucks and co can come back in with the season still in tact. Cara must get a few on the board this week and a couple from dids, again why is willaims playing, this favorites game better not cost us, when c1,lones and king are ready to roll.........

I hope with all fingers crossed out of our interchange Rowe, C3, Didak and Maxwell get a game.

Would be great to thrash Essendon with a capacity crowd. I know I wont have a voice back for a few days afterwards if we do.

Do not underestimate the Carrot Seller !! He is against his old - old club for the first time and in an Anzac Day game .... 8 goals for the season so far !! He will bob up for a few no doubt.

By all reports Lonie hasn't done anything at Willi. Let him run into some form there before he gets another crack at the real stuff. He needs to earn his spot.

Play all three Clokes. Get it over and done with. Essendon will once again play their best game of the season against us. I only hope that our boys are ready for it.

We just gotta run. Run all day. Run till the end.

agree the trouble however is that he will struggle to find form at williamstown because vfl footy is very different to afl. It is not clean, there is little game plan. Lonie will not be suited to this. What he must do is show the endeavour and passion that he wants to play afl again.

This game could be seen as going right down to the wire. But I don't think this is the case. We have shown far more heart than the bombers have this year( shows how much ticker they have).

Burns will kick 4 goals, tarrant 3. Cam Cloke will play the game of his short career. Didak may miss I think. Maybe King will be a late inclusion.

In the end. Without David Hilles Huge head in the way. Pies by 26 points.

Big rumour that yakka is going to play, apparently from someone who went to the footy lunch with MM today (courtesy Hotrods board)!

Is Mick going to pick J Clo as a forward?!!!!

Will Rowe get dropped after a week on the pine (usual MM pattern with kids)?!!!

Will Heath Shaw ever actually get a game, or will we one day need a banner saying congratulations Heath on 50 servicable emmergencies!?!

Is Willo having a life sized bronze statue of himself cast, so he can put it in the foward pocket on match days then go and take in a movie!?!

Will T3 be the first player ever to debut and be reprimanded by the club in the same week!?!

ah the intrigue.

Lets not forget that with Buckley, Didak, and Fraser, we were easily beaten for one of the few times last year. They were pretty much the same team we face Monday, and beat us from pillar to post. As I watch "Last time they met", it's all I can do to keep from weeping! We were bloody awful, with only Licca, Burns & O'bree providing a fight, and brief moments of brilliance from Lonie, Kingy, Neon & Rhyce. Frighteningly, we were without Pebbles that night, and his absence was noticeable. Burns was excellent up forward that night too. Mind you McKee & McGough had good nights too.

What Sheeds wants is for us to have given away plenty of frees & 50's, and to go into the last quarter knowing that one or two of our guys have been reported, making next weeks St Kilda match an impossibility, making us mentally easy prey, and putting the umpire firmly in their corner.

You really wanna stuff Sheedy's day? meet each attempt to stir us into committing stupid acts of violence with big smiles, and laugh at them. Blow them kisses, that sort of thing, and hopefully in the last quarter show them the great big scoreboard. Last time we played them we got to within 15 in the last because we had more run in our legs, but because we were nearly 50 points down in the third it only required a couple of seconds worth of brilliance from Hird and the umpire to snuff out our charge. Had we been even at 3/4 time we'd have run over them.

Our other enemy, and the reason why we cant afford a close one, is umpiring. We need to beat Essendon by four or five goals & the umpires by two or three.

Last Friday night, we lost 5 or 6 goals to shocking umpiring decisions. They made the job damn near impossible. It wasn't made much of in the media because there was no 20 to 40 free kick count, and because of great work by Taz & others we were able to get a couple of frees inside our 50. Of course ours weren't 2 metres out dead in front, or paid for imaginary offences, but it was enough, along with the margin, to take attention off the sickening performance by the maggots, more importantly it was enough to seal the game. But there's bugger all we can do about that except make DAMN sure we don't get sucked into stupid frees, and play from in front. Last time we met them we were snuffed out by Hird & the umpire, his (the umpire) advantage goal with ten to play just about sealed the game for Essendon. Both Hird & Diver were awarded shots for diving in the last.

The only periods we looked the better side last time was when we were running hard, playing in front, and flowing. The stop/start possession game is pointless against Essendon, as it fails to take advantage of their lack of stamina. Also if it's wet the possession game gets too hard. We got to within 15 points last time after being nearly 50 down; that was because they ran out of legs at the end of quarters. The question is will we take our opportunities? We had shots to get within 9 points last time, we should have done them, but we panicked. All we had to do was take our chances, and Essendon would have missed the finals, but we failed and they won easily. All they had to do was kick a single goal at the right time & the charge was over. Essendon are very good at defending a lead, lose the first quarter by three or four goals and we wont catch them.

When they are in front with minutes to play, that's when Hird earns his money. They set him up outside packs like a rugby half-back waiting for a drop goal, he kicks one from the angle and 'pooof', charge finished.

Don't let them get out to an early lead.

Don't get sucked into free kicks & fights.

Don't play stop/start.

Don't miss shots.

Dont take your eyes off Hird in the last, or at the end of quarters.
