clement will beat him in the air and will be able to run with him. As would maxwell. However that leaves wakelin and presti alone to do the job on lucas and lloyd. They should do good but. Walker could cover up back if C3 is brought into the team to play up forward. Clement will beat hird this week.

someone mentioned mark johnson. I agree that he is a real danger. He and soloman are the men to watch out for in the first half. They will be the ones dishing out the hard stuff. This is where scotty burns is really important. He needs to play on either johnson or soloman and absorb the punishment and give it back. He is tough enough to take it.
Agree. Johnson and Tarrant have a history against each other (nightclub brawl last season). Could be some fireworks.

Clement is at the top of his game, whilst Hird is battling injury. With Maxy named on the pine, Jimmy is the obvious choice.

yer those matchup's look alright, but i think peverill will play on licuria. He has been our number 1 ball winner and peverill is their best shut down player. Secondly i think holland will get the job on jason johnson. He is their number 1 ball winner, is not overly fast, is small and isnt a great kick. He is probably the perfect match up for brodie holland who is our best shut down player.

I got the feeling Rheece will play loose in the backline this week. Mick will really want to expose his pace and get some really dashy run coming off half back. It is going to be tight in the packs, with both sides going in really hard. Rheece can swoop in and receive a handball from lica or burns and burst away. He is our man this week.

I also think burnsy will play on mark johnson. Woewoedin may be too small to mark johnson who will dish out the hard stuff. Burns can stand up to it and give some in return. Maybe woewoedin on mcveigh. Mcveigh has been in good form so far and is getting a lot of cheap possessions. Woey can shut him down.

In terms of Welsh, I really hope didak or caracella can get him and drag him to full forward because he has given so much drive to essendon and is one of the only players to have some pace. Agree with cole on lovett, would be a great match up. Cole will do him with tackling ability but lovett may have better skills. Will be a huge job for cole. Shut down welsh and lovett, the whole pace in the team is gone. We match up alrite, especially since essendon lack rucks as well.

Hird on Clement or morrison, agree.

Forgot about Peverill. I think he may actually be the one who takes Woey, who seems to be the oppositions main man to target in the lengthy absence of Buckley.

Not sure jonno, i reckon brodie is a better match for jason johnson than lica. Johnson gets too much of the ball and lica will have to be accountable. Brodie is the perfect match for Johnson size and pace wise. Licuria is in top nick, im pretty sure they'll use peverill on him. Or even soloman to test him out physically. I doubt that in woewoedins previous form that they will put their number 1 tagger on him. But we'll see.

I can see where you're coming from, but prefer Licca on him. Turn the tables, and make Jason Johnson accountable. Play Holland (or start him) up forward, and then push him up as an extra man in the midfield, forcing extra pressure on the Bombers.

yer could be an idea jonno cos licuria is perhaps more effective by disposal than jason johnson, however i just dont like the idea of each playing a loose tag on each other. It may make things complicated at the start of the game with brodie going to jason johnson n peverill going to licuria whilst licuria is trying to go to johnson.

Licuria on peverill is still a good matchup for us because licuria is a good in and under player and will kill him in pack situations.

I'm not so sure. Licca prefers to play wide of the packs, whilst Peverill is one of the few Bombers willing to provide a contest in there. It will certainly be an interesting battle, as both midfields lack plenty of pace.

True. A real battle of wills is on the cards. And we have the class to survive, whilst they have the grunt.

Yes, true. Although they still have the Johnson's and Solomon, they still lack the enforcers of old which struck fear into many an opposition coaches heart.

ESSENDON
B: McVeigh, Fletcher, Zantuck
HB: McPhee, Richards, Bullen
C: Bolton, Murphy, Welsh
HF: Lucas, Bradley, Hird
F: M.Johnson, Lloyd, Lovett
FOLL: Laycock, J.Johnson, Peverill
I/C: Henneman, Solomon, Rioli, Dyson, Haynes, Lovett-Murray, Reynolds
IN: Reynolds, Zantuck, Richards, Murphy, Rioli, Bullen
OUT: Thomas, Stanton, Monfries

That is some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen in my life. Should be a cakewalk, also the crap about our defence? Nearly as funny as their side named. We would have close to the best defence this season, should win in a canter, all we need to be is within striking distance or ahead at 3 qtr time and its game over
