If Woey plays on Hird then we are screwed. Hird carves Woey up every time. Lucus and Lloyd and Hird must stoped, tagged, hit whatever. They will come out like its a grand final and Im not sure we will be ready. Essendon have the wood on us in recent times and we must changed that! This is the kinda game that Lovett Murray could kick 5 goals and be the matchwinner!

I can see it happening Hot Pies. Something different tends to happen in ANZAC Day matches - although he is out of form.

Hird, Lloyd, Lucas & Mark Johnson are the four we have to nulify. They are pumped to beat us and we are primed to lose. Rocca is a huge blow on top of losing Buckley. I don't wish to hear all the rhetoric from the club about why we lost etc. The players need to show what they are made of and win.

I hope many of you make the dawn service or attend your local RSL as Monday is more than a football game, well at least till 2pm.

Guys, lets not get too excited about this week, if we had've beaten Geelong, then great, but when we are playing lessor or equal sides, we are expected to win. I would be shocked if we lost this game, its an easy 4 points so don't get carried away. Same ol story as last yr, we win the easy ones and get esxcited.

Make no mistake, Mondays game will be an easy and soft victory, marred by skill errors. lets just get this week over with so we can play the Brisy's and Ports, then we have something to crow about if we beat them.

someone mentioned mark johnson. I agree that he is a real danger. He and soloman are the men to watch out for in the first half. They will be the ones dishing out the hard stuff. This is where scotty burns is really important. He needs to play on either johnson or soloman and absorb the punishment and give it back. He is tough enough to take it. More importantly, if johnson and soloman get dirty, scotty burns, cam cloke, licuria, tarrant all have to give it back with interest. Apart from these two, essendon is not a strong side. Youngstars in stanton, dyson, lovett, laycock, welsh will not stand up to the physical stuff and will not like a physical, messy game. Scott burns is very important. I remember two years ago the bump he laid of johnathon brown in the gf to fire the game up. It was a beauty. Some of that tough stuff is needed. Otherwise soloman and johnson will have us on our heels.

Essendon are a pissweak shell of their former selves. Sit on Hird and limit Lucas and we'll shit it in. We are playing better footy and they are doing all their talking in the media. Let us talk on the ground. Hird needs a negative minder though, no-one looking for easy touches - which is what he does - allows you easy touches while he sneaks off somewhere to create havoc.

For all their bleating they will finish spooners this year.

even if they are, i wouldnt pay attention to them, each teams are going to name just about every player on their list and finalise their sides on monday anyway. Im interested to see if andrew welsh pulled up alrite after his knock to the ribs last week but even if he is not right he will still be named in the team.

I think Hird will be our biggest problem, as per usual. Even with injuries we match up well on Lloyd, Lucas, Johnson etc. We don't seem to have anyone who can run with Hird and compete with him in the air.

Even reducing Hird's effectiveness will go a long way toward winning this game. If he plays another blinder we will lose again.
