What a bunch of NEGATIVE bastards....Christ so we lost a game that we could have/should have won...but it was not to be.
Its not the end of the bloody world. We play bombers next week which we should/will win, then St.K at home, which the way the saints are playing we should/will win,Freo....debatable,then Bitchmond & Wet Toast at home,we should/will win those ones.
Come on drop the negativity and think positive for once. There is still along way to go.
I didnt wory about reading all the posts as i knew what would be there,so how about some POSITIVE thinking for once

i dont think its negatitivity as much as dissapointment after narrowly loosing a game we had a chance in. The boys gave 100% and im happy with the performance. Its just that things are going against us and we are all waiting for our fortunes to change. You couldnt ask for more from the boys. The after match threads however are to discuss where we played well, where we played bad where we can improve and thats what has been discussed so far. I dont think we can doubt the effort the boys put in but there is a lot of improvement to be had.

DaVe86,It is disappointment....we are all disappointed, the guys didnt play 100% they played 110%,BUT there is no ned for alot of the comments that this one didnt play well, that one didnt play well,etc.etc.I watched the game on Fox ,as well as having the PC running with the scoreboard and it appeared that the guys were just unlucky,BUT again the negativity isnt necessary.
We can win the next few games and that wikll put us in good stand with the 8.

Agreed Dave. I didn't think there was much negativity either in this thread, we're just spewin hard. No one has really said that they were disappointed with the effort, in fact it was a great effort. Bit of bad luck in the end is what cost us, thats all.
We'll cream those scumbags next week. We're streets better than them at the moment. 2 and 3 won't be that bad. We were 6 and 6 in '03.

Peter, I suggest you do read ALL the posts - I have read every single one of them and I assure you that there were plenty of positives - even in the negative posts.

Where to now????? A win on ANZAC Day. We can still scrape a win in there, but after that, look who we have:

Round 6: St.Kilda
Round 7: Fremantle (Subiaco)
Round 8: Richmond
Round 9: West Coast (MCG)

Richmond will be a win, but the other three pose serious trouble. The two West Australian sides will be tough to beat, but I can see us really hurting the Saints.
I think you want to be careful calling the Richmond game a win. Remember we are coming off a Subiaco trip and there could well be a hangover. Without having seen yesterday's game yet, it sounds like last week's 35 degree heat could well have effected some of our guys - Lica and Ant (failure to recover the cause of his injury?) to name two.

jimbeam wrote:Your a bit harsh on the rankings Johno, i thought they played a brilliant game of football, every player on the field should hold their heads up high. North Melbourne did not beat collingwood last night injury did, we are twice as good as north and it showed last night in patches.
Birdy wrote:J26 you've given Tex 1/10, the worst in the side. A bit harsh don't you think? That goal he kicked was an absolute ripper. Everything else looks pretty good though IMO.
Fair enough guys, although Birdy, I thought Tex, apart from that goal, was average - and he have away a silly goal to Hale in the square. He should have handballed it through. He was ok.

I'm must say I am impressed by most people's attitude. I expected to get online today and find Tarrant and MM being bagged. Very impressed that people aren't singling anyone out in a game that we should have one.
Cam didn't have a great one, but to say he should be dumped, along with Jason, and a 17 year old kid who hasnt even played yet?!?!?! Dr Alf, in the words of Sam Newman ... YOU IDIOT

Ahhhh, we had a chance, more than once, but we didn't take the chances. I haven't got much to say, just dissapointed. We could have been 4-0 by now. We have led in every single game this year. The three games we have lost are the ones we have been in front for the majority of the game. Hmmmmm.

Last night was a great measuring stick so early in the season. Kangas had lots of run and generally we stood up in the midfield and defence. Shocking bad luck with Pebs going when he was really looking the goods with no matchup just double teaming - which gave him an extra step ladder . Across the board we looked solid and played a direct brand of footy. Post Pebs going off you could see us a bit rattled but then we straightened up again. Very impressed with Wakes performance. Look in reality we need to improve in delivery hitting guys on the chest and moving the ball a bit quicker. But with the likes of Johnno and Ritchie et al now starting to find some form we are looking V. Good. I think MM kept Leon off for a bit too long but fresh legs were important after last week and he is MAGIC !!

All good last night except the result and Rocca's injury. Lots to look forward to on the Big Stage Anzac Day - bring on the Bummers I feel good about them now after this hit out.

GO PIES !! 8)
Let all your troubles be forgot for we are Collingwood. We'll fight it out until the end we're Collingwood. So help me Jock.
Two pies and two beers thanks!!

I am gutted we lost.

But I think we made enormous strides last night. We played great footy in patches against an in form side and did so despite losing our CHF. We just didn't capitalise on our chances. I don't think anyone could be singled out for the lost - things just didn't go our way. If we played like that against the Crows and the Dogs we would be 3-1.

Good to see o'bree and burns finding some form. Tarrant was imposing. Cole was starting to show a bit but still stuffed up every now and then. Shaw was 200% in his disposal last night, but his direct opponent got the honours (although we don't know what instructions he was given by MM).

Chin up guys.
Go Pies!!!

Easy on Rhyce, Wells is a superstar, how many players would even be able to tag him for any great effect? Watch the way he moves, simply unbelievable, like McLeod only better.

I only had the benefit (?) of Rex Hunt and his radio team to listen to, but I thought they played well.

I was disappointed about missed opportunities all thru the game, not just at the end. But, when all is said and all is done, DANG but we have a good team.

Go Pies! Kill Bombers.
