you didn't see much of HOlland or Burns yesterday because MM Benched them as 'punishment'uuuuu..... The LoneSTAR wrote:I for one have lost patience with Lonie. Don't want to axe him just yet, but at least back to Willy to get some confidence up.
Didn't see much of Holland yesterday - Maybe a stint at Willy might do him good also,.... although that maybe a little premature.
Rhyce Shaw is probably not good enough for AFL due to his consistent foot passing errors. I hate to say that, cause i was one of those calling for the head of Johnno a few short years ago for the same reason - Although he was also wayward yesterday - Apart from that stunning pass on Roccas chest at the true CHF position!!!!!.. Rocca missed that set shot
Yes i agree that our endeavour was better, but i still think that our tackling is not effective enough - not fierce enough!!!
We probably had 2 good passages of play - There could've been more had our kicking been better, but not enough to give me real hope. I'm still not prepared to call it quits for 2005 because i can always see the light at the end of the tunnel. Although i must admit that at the moment, that light could very well be the 4:45pm from Broadmeadows.
One more thing: Jimmy Clement for President,.... of Australia!!!!!
HOlland's time on ground was 40 minutes for 10 disposals, Burns time on ground was 57 minutes for 10 disposals and Williams time on ground was 76 minutes for 5 disposals! O'Bree was 87 minutes for 19 disposals but it doesn't tell me how many of those were to the opposition!

I think MM and the players are evenly to blame - now that the smoke has cleared.
I think MM wants them to play the stright line corridor footbal BUT keep posession.
When the players constantly turn it over going up the corridor it rebounds very quickly and it hurts you on the scoreboard.
Then a player like Cole gets it and he thinks if he stuffs up it may be bad - that is where the problem is - ' He is concerned about the result of his actions'.
The actions have to be automatic and not considered - take the first option instinctively.
It was interesting to hear Tony Shaw saying that when Presti got the ball (when he was coach) they would run by for the handball.
If Presti had to kcik it he was instructed to kick to the wing - so there was as little chance as possible of hurting you on the scoreboard.
Now this is over 4 seasons ago and he still can't kick !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at this, someone other than me isn't blinded by their 'ridiculous obsession' and can see the truth, we're shit! hahahaCannibal wrote:I think it's pretty easy for people to bag the coach, players and club when things are seemingly off track but, I really do wonder, whether some of you actually have lives outside of a ridiculous obsession with Collingwood? Pre-season, when I stated the obvious that West Coast were better side than we were, I was bagged for being pessimistic and not saying we'd win by ten goals. Now, we've lost two games, one in which we were clearly a six goal better side, and it's as if my pre-season comments were ridiculously OPTIMISTIC! Some of you guys have veered from the stupidly optimistic just a few weeks ago to the pathetically ridiculous now in your comments.

my two cents:
Clement was great (as always) and should be captain. Rocca hasnt galvanised the team enough as captain.
I thought Johnno's game was good but not exceptional. Granted he got 37 touches but his kicking has gone backwards, and on several occasions his kicking cost us goals. I prefer him to get 20 posessions which are effective. I liked him busting backs on the half back flank better.
I liked woeys game. Definately looked slow, but hes always been slow. Apart from Clement, he was the only Pie who has enough kicking quality. We are desperately short of players with Woeys skill level.
And, for all those baggers of Fraser (whom i rekcon is awesome), how much do we miss him now?!
Neon Leon was quiet but was definitely dynamic. We have enough averagely skilled workman on the field, Neon Leon has the most important role in the team with his ability to perform some "magic" add some flair...the same way McLeod, despite only touching the ball a f ew times punished us.
I liked C3s game as well. He kept on keeping on. He palyed up a few kicks, but he's young...

I think Ritchie is on the improve - I'm pretty happy with he's progress. One of the few that is willing to throw his weight around,... we need more of this type of attitude!!!Meatpie wrote:The only thing to add to this is RICHARD COLE - WHAT ARE YOU THINKING !!!!!!!!
For that matter, let me add to the positives:
Chad Morrison has impressed me despite his lack of speed - He wins contested footy, has good vision & skills and seems to always make the right decisions.
Carracella is certainly the tonic our forward half needed - Great skills!
Hope we can still get a few good years from these guys!!

Burnsy, I too had a dream about CFC last night. It was good but not as good as yours obviously - unlike you I didnt wake up stuck to the sheets.
In mine Daics was a surprise selection for this week against Carlton. Seems he's been out injured all this time, not retired.

I cant believe 95% of us pies supporters... Being a supporter means u support the team when they are losing, not slagging every single collingwood player on the list.. if we had beaten the crows by a goal... which was very possible, everyone would be saying how great we played..
Come on guys show some support and quit whinging about every player that wears the black and white... show some bloody support...
cheers...
