Horrible. Rocca's days as a half forward look over. Fanning was a joke. Oh well, there's always next year.

Disgraceful 2nd half.
Buckley injured?? Retire now for the sake of the team.
Tarrant shocking.
Caracella good
Shaw good
Clement good
Johnson good
Licura fought all day
Fanning good 1st half then went missing
Rocca ordinary
Woewodin pitiful

Overall some players just look disinterested.

MM needs to go read the basics of coaching book again.

I love it!
I just knew that Fanning would get criticism. And I only had to wait for the first post!

Well for the 2nd year in a row the Pies have not learned a thing over the pres season.
1. No strength - far too easily pushed off the ball,
2. No tackling - poor attempts at tackles on the Bulddogs - Hahn consistently ran through tackles,
3. No conditioning - could not run out of sight on a dark night - extremely poorly conditioned for the start of a season,
4. Sub VFL skills - extremely poor by foot and worse by hand.

Last year I always spoke out about how poorly the list was conditioned (by Buttifant) and this year it is equally poor.

If today is anything to go by -
1. Pies for the bottom 4 again and a sub .500 games winning ratio,
2. Buttifant to be rehab only and employ a REAL conditioning expert,
3. MM to be replaced.

There will be a very interesting meeting tomorrow and Eddie and the board will be asking some very searching questions about skills (or lack of them) and severe lack of conditioning.

Don't lay all the blame on the players the coaches are manily to blame.

I see nothing has changed from 2004.
Nobody putting their hand up to win us the game when Buckley missing from the field.
Nobody capable of executing a decent tackle when we are behind.
Nice to know that every club in the league will know they can pace themselves for 3 qtrs, then RUN ALL OVER US in the final term without us offering a whimper of resistance.
As usual, we gave away a 4 goal lead and left the hard ball gets to someone else.
I don't want to know about injuries as excuses for playing LIKE THAT.
What an embarrassment to our president and our club.

Sure Footscray palyed well. Because we allowed them too.
You know something's wrong when Williams gets a game for us and Cooney gets B.O.G.
Oh, and Faran Ray kicked a goal as well.

Clement, Johnson, Wakelin, Shaw and Caracella collect your paycheques.
The rest of you - don't bother putting your hands out.

God help us next week.

Caracella is a really good pickup though.

what a beep poor effort

8 minutes to go in the 2nd qtr we led 9 goals to 5 from then on the dogs slammed on 11 goals to 2.....Very very ordinary effort.

Have we improved on last season if so where?

Rocca & Tarrant should publicly appologise to everyone at Collingwood. They were pathetic. The ease with which the ball came out of our forward line was embarrasing . Shane O'bree should Never be allowed to play for us again. He lacks heart and conviction and should be shown the door.
Where was Maxwell? where was C1&C2? Where was Rowe? Mick, for c/s stop giving your matey x eagles a game and give some real talent a game, just like the bulldog kids who tore us to shreds today.
When we didn't stuff around we looked good, but our forward line. OMG
SELECTORS please take note, use it or lose it.Stand up and play our future.

Disjointed, disinterested, disappointing. Need to learn to play for four quarters instead of three.

Don't be too hard on Fanning folks, he's only gonna get better playing on quality ruckmen.

Holland, Woewodin, Williams very ordinary.

Caracella, Walker, Shaw (particularly), Clement, Johnson, Wakelin & Licuria all good.

Gee, Rowe would've relished todays going - hope he's there next week, along with a couple of Clokes !!

Thank goodness it's only round 1 - you'd like to think there'll be a big improvement against Adelaide next week otherwise it's gonna be a long long year.

But far far too early to write them off - remember Richmond beat us by 37 points in round 1, 2002...........

Still, at least we have the best most state-of-the-art training facilities, and the most high-profile prez, and the most prestegious sponsers, and we have the hightest crowds, oh and those amazing record profits, oh and wow we also have real hollywood star types turning up to watch us, oh and our branding is so very strong, you could sell second-hand toilet paper with our logo on it, it's that popular, the most popular by far, oh and we might even get to play in Dubai next year, what an honour, and... no-one's really that worried about what happens on the field are they?!! blah, blah, blah

LOL i can't believe i'm saying this, but RHEECE was our absolute best player by far.

We are very, very, very average. I think (hope) MM might be struggling this year.
