Will be interesting to see how we start the season.

I think West or Johnson aren't playing, I can't remember which one. We must start the season with a win. What would be even better is if we can start the season with a big win.

Anyway, it will also be interesting where MM decides to play Bucks. I reckon we will see him play a variety of roles, probably rotated through the midfield and the forward line. Hopefull Bucks and Cara can chime in with a couple of goals each.

B: Presti, Wakelin, Maxwell
HB: Johnson, Clement, Cole
C: Lonie, Burns, Lockyer
HF: Bucks, Rocca, Caracella
F: C. Cloke, Tarrant, Davis
Foll: Fanning (Richards if fit), Woey, Licuria

Inter: Holland, Morrison, Rowe, O'Bree
Emerg: Williams, Walker, R. Shaw, Lokan

I want to see Lonie on the wing. I hope MM uses him a bit more there this season. I also hope Rowe gets a run on the wing.

Fanning will probably ruck, With C2, and Rocca rotated through there. If Walker plays, he will probably be rotated through there as well.

I would like to see Johnson, Davis, Holland and Caracella rotated through the middle at various stages. Although I would prefer if Cara is used predominately in a forward role. Burns, should be rotated down back, and down forward when needed.

Lockyer should be fit and firing to play a midfield role, after being close to BOG in one of the recent pre season matches.

Holland may be used to tag West (if he plays).

what is with the medias preoccupation with Tarrant and rocca, we do have more than 2 players in the team. I agree they are both very important but we are not a 2 man team.

I think our midfield will dominate with them missing johnson, should give our forwards plenty of chances. Our full backline in wakes, Clemo and presti will be solid and relaible as usual. If we can hit targets and kick straight we should smash them.

Pies by 43 points!!

Herald sun has reported as tarrant really fit. The only way dogs will win is if darcy has a blinder which is possible considering fanning will debut. However our forward line is better and should dominate. Without a good ruckman at the moment, a win is a win and it is also 1 less week we have to play without fraser n richards. So if we can just get a win or two on the board early, it will be a bonus with the calibre of players still to come back in. 1 point or 100 makes no difference.

Backs: Presti, Wakelin, Cole
H.Backs: Maxwell, Clement, Morrison
centre: Woewoedin, Buckley, Johnson
H.Forward: Lonie, Rocca, Licuria
Forward: Caracella, Tarrant, C. Cloke
Rucks: Fanning, Burns, Holland

Bench: Lockyer, Rowe, Davis, Walker

I would love to see the midfield going back to basic. That is buckley, lica, woey and burns and holland all starting in there. Hopefully we can get the jump on the doggies and it will giv a good chance for the team to gel. I have named johnson on the win only because i want morrison on the field.

Pies by 26 points, go pies.

Why do I feel so uncertain about this one? My head says we should whoop them by forty (which will remain my tip), but geez, I dunno...

They did look quite good in the first 2 rounds of the Wizzo, moving the ball very well. They have a bunch of high draft picks who should be ready to impress Rocket, and we will certainly have some difficulty matching Darcy.

If we play like we have in the pre-season we should account for them easily, but this is not as much of a must-win for us at is is for them. After all, if we win, we have knocked off serial cellar-dweller, so what. We just dont have as much to play for, and we seem to start the season slowly, even in great years.

But still, Pies by 43.

Going to be a very ugly game. Uber-flood. Taz frustrated. Scoring could be 8 goals to 11 goals with a pie win.
Get back on top.

If doggies flood, my solution to the problem would be to move lonie into the middle and clement and play rocca in the ruck. We would therefore hav 3 very long kicks and buckley who could drill goals from outside 50 and cause trouble. This could draw defenders out of the attacking 50 and play closer to these players and give tarrant more room. Rocca is useless as is any player if he has 10 opponents. Therefore move him up the ground because doggies will hav no choice but to follow due the penetration in his kick. Just a thought.

Damn straight Cam. Eade's ugly flood football will be back. First use in the centre is gonna be hard i'm assuming with a first game ruckman, which is crucial to beat the flood.
Still, pies by 11. Should be too talented in the end.

The Dogs are one of the favorites for the spoon. Their backline is suspect & they have no forwards of the calibre of Taz & Rocca. Even without Frazer & Richards, the Pies to win by 4 or 5 goals.

Cam, hit the nail on the head once more. They have done that in the past, and Eade is obsessed with that form of game. You may be right, although, if Rocca and Tarrant can break it open early, watch out.

If that's the case I feel really confident about this one.

Although we are still a long way from being a premiership threat, we have too much class for a Bulldogs side missing those two players.

Particularly Johnson.
