The VFL Team of the Year has been announced for 2004. The team was listed as follows:

B: Michael Ablett (F'ston), Matthew Egan (Geelong), Chris Obst (Port Melb)
HB: Sam Cranage (W'town), Ben Schwarze (Port Melb), Jordan Doering (Bendigo)
C: David Gallagher (Sand), Julian Field (VC) (North Ballarat), Ben Atkin (Tas.)
HF: Steven Lawrence (Port Melb), Brent Tuckey (North Ballarat), James Byrne (Geelong)
F: David Mitchell (Werribee), Nick Sautner (Sand), Kristan Height (Box Hill)
R: Ryan O'Connor (Coburg), Brad Lloyd (C) (W'town), Adam Fisher (Sand)

Inter: Andrew Eccles (North Ballarat), Nathan Saunders (North Ballarat),

Any of those players worth picking up Dale? I know Obst played for the Hawks and Swans - would he be a good option? Even Nick Carter?

At least 10 of those players have already been tried at AFL level, and most, if not all, are in the upper age range.

I would be looking at some of the younger brigade who have age on their side.

Ben Atkin would have 2-3 years left in him, Plapp has a few left in him, but both aren't at AFL level.

Geez. Jarrad was a bit stiff, again. Good to see Sammy and Lloydy in the team, though.
