We played the possession game and continually chipped to the pockets. Why does Tarrant continually lead their? He doesn't give himself much of a chance of kicking the goal. Twice he lead straight into the pocket last quarter and twice he missed goals. It seems all year the forwards have had plenty of room to lead straight up the ground but don't and i can't understand why. It is bad coaching from Malthouse and needs to be changed next year.

Oh man, don't remind me. I was there that day, and I was so convinced we were going to turn it around - we went out in '88 at the hands of Melbourne too from memory.

Licuria and Woey take a bow....
Tha's because we stuffed around with it. We played short, and once we became fatigued, we stuffed it up.

After that match, I think he might have gained a little bit of trade value, which I reckon is why MM played him. Trade away Pies.

Woey? 19 kicks, 13 handpasses, 6 marks, 6 tackles.
Most of his disposals went nowhere and his opponent Kouta was clearly best on ground. Lots of touches, worked hard but achieved very little - but he wasn't alone.

nah, that's ok, I stopped making up "ignore lists" when I was in grade 3. I'm a grown up, and I understand that people will have little disagreements from time to time. That's life. I enjoy reading everyone's post regardless, never was one for sticking my head in the sand.

Go Pies in 2005!!
Well said fella
Remember you cant spell ignorance without the word ignore
If only MM will pls ignore Williams last game! and delist him!!

That fact, sadly, has become a recuuring problem this season. That, apart from injury, has been our down fall. :?

Yeah like everyone it hurt me a steel chair to the solarplexes. We battled hard, but succummed yet again to the scum. I hate too be critical of Tarrant because he was a shining light all night, but when he missed that second shot from the pocket, It let those lowly scum crawl back into the game! The man must learn from his mistakes. Our game plan has come so predictable and boring. Other teams must find so easy to disrupt it! But on the positives we were missing a few and we didn't leave without a bit of a scrap and to woewodin, I apologise he showed he ain't soft, he led our tackle count. But it was hard for him to compete with Kouta in the air we really missed our talls down back!

Phew - thank god THAT's over.....that was such a shit year.

Not only was it crap, we lost TWICE to Esendon and Carlton (by a point which just makes is worse in a way).

Too disappointing in the end to get worked up about, although some umpiring decisions and Taz's two missed shots in the final quarter had me hanging my head. I love Taz but he MUST improve his kicking (sounds familiar?). However he is not the only one to blame.

I want to see us trade aggressively in the off season and turn things around quickly. Dont think I could stand another 2004.

For whats it worth, I dont think Mick has lost the players at all, on the contrary I think he achieved so much out of this young group of players in 02 - 03, I just think it was too much to expect the same in 04, particularly after being knocked around in consecutive GF losses.

Can someone tell me if Rowe was injured? He was playing great in the first quarter and never returned. Is MM trying to hide him from opposition so he hits them unexpectedly next year or something? He set up our first goal with a great pack mark on F50, was getting possessions, actually hitting targets. Where was he after quarter time? On the bench! Why?

As for Swan - he is the worst exponent of the field kick in the team. His kick to Woewodin at half back when we should have been streaming forward was disgraceful. It fell inbetween 3 Pies and a Carlton player took it forward an they goaled (and supporters behind me were bagging Woewodin for not getting the 'hard' ball - get stuffed d!ckheads, it was Swan's pathetic kick that caused the turnover). 2 other times in the quarter he failed to hit a target as well.

I can't believe coaches etc. now say players that can't kick won't be drafted. What an INGENIOUS thought. Imagine that! Remember when tall athletic players (with no football brain like Croad et al) were all the rage at the draft? That idea fell on it's arse.

But no Collingwood, you keep drafting the players who TRY REALLY HARD but just can't kick. It's done wonders for this team for the last decade.

AI have no idea why Rowe was taken from the ground. Is he injured? Did he make a big mistake I didn't see? He was good early...:?

I watched the match and was very suprised that Woey got votes. He is perhaps our least accountable player. I lost count how many times his direct opponent took uncontested grabs, because Woey was sitting behind the pack.

Lockyer is our least accountable player. Woey did start off as a tagger but he has a bit of work to do if he wants to be one again - he needs to man up a little more, but I like him across half back, as he started there at Melbourne.
