No chance !!

We are extremely pleased with the way he has settled in to the club and his onfield peformances have been terrific.

I'm still gobsmacked that you let him go, but I'm sure there are plenty of other weird trade stories that make that one pale in significance.

I'm strangely not as angry as I was after the loss to them in Rd 7. Last night it was plain for everyone to see in the 3rd qtr that Carlton wanted it more and that our shortcomings were being exposed yet again. I.e. too many players with deficiencies in either skill, discipline & decision making. It showed us that we need a reality check and probably a minor clean out if we want to seriously challenge for a flag. Provided we act on fixing this by removing and adding the appropriate players, then all is not lost.

Looking on the bright side, add to last night's team, Wakes, Presti, Richards, C2, Rocca, Davidson & Maxwell. 7 talls, and all pretty decent ones. Do you think that with the addition of all these we might be more inclined to go long and direct rather than the bullshit chip it and HB it around that last night showed? Would Taz have a bit more freedom and be less likely to boil over in frustration? A big YES I think.

To the poster who bagged Woey for supposedly an inability to win a hard ball; pull your head in! He has been one of our best practically all year and a Copeland top 5 will prove it. Plus he is able to combine skill and poise with that. A combination very few in the team have. Also, who ever it was that suggested we trade Holland, then you are also in a similar land of ignorance. Ditto to the above as he has hardness, skill and poise as well.

I've said it many times b4 and last night the chickens came home to roost. Taz missed the sitters that that champs just don't miss shanked about 3 and we got done by a point !! The team collectively can't kick, they handballed themselves into deep shite when all they had to do was kick the thing long!! and too many players showed a distinct lack of heart.
I said I would never bag Ritchy Cole but GEE he makes it hard not to with his VERY poor decision making and disposal.
Several players should not represent us again are Williams Obree Swan and MCG plus a few more who didn't play last night.
Buckley probably should stand aside but be given at least 90% game time as I felt we lost the game during his and Burnsies time on the bench in the 3rd quater :?:
Finally I think MM needs to review his coaching technique as he certainly makes some strange moves.
All in all it was a good game for 2 teams without much to play for and it was a game we SHOULD havbe won but again we didn't.

I listened to Malthouse's press conference and he came out and stated that Buckley shouldn't have played at all ?? He said he was fully fit and passed by the medical staff but that he shouldn't have taken his place in the team. Rather odd comments from him ??

hahaha Tess,

And damn him for actually appearing reasonable.....but still, he's on our board and we lost so that makes him gloating by default and he should be hung, drawn and quartered.

It is just awful that we let him go like that. You guys must have been so pleased to see him swapped for pick 35!!! Why, oh why didn't we get a better deal? Scooter was a great player when on the ground, had great skills and won the ball. Only recently did I bring myself to watch a replay of the 2003 Grand Final and he was one of our best, and he was composed under pressure. It is yet another mystery in the continuing story of the Collingwood Football Club...

were dissapointed so we should be,if we want to be honest why did'nt.....

-we win comfortably we were 20 points up at one stage in the first half we were doing it comfortably but we began to play show pony football. If we had won certainly the posts would be of a different tone

- tazza gee you do all the hard running and making yourself available and providing a contest but its a waste of time when you miss set shots at goal. who is your goal kicking coach is it cummings or? as soon as you can kick consistant goals ala m. lloyd you will be a legend of the game.

-obree he gets bagged but is a clever player something must be happening behind the scenes

-williams to little to late

-didak and woey i thoght were good

-mcg is to scared to kick the football i think he has listened to his critics to much.

-buckley must be injured his second efforts and tackling/chasing is poor(ive been watching closely for the past month) if he is injured mick come out and say what his injuries are he does not deserve the critisism.33 next year a history of hamstring injuries and hamstring injuries have a 90% re-occurring rate. has his good run of injuries finally caught up with him?

-mick to me has a year(next season) in credit as he has got us to the last 2 gf's so he must be doing something right. If we are in this position this time next year he will be under the pump.

That is a huge problem. We have tired out too much late in games, and we could have defeated the Blues twice, the Dess, Power and Swans. That would be an extra 5 win - 13 for the year = finals. :?

Too right PiesRock, the 1 point loss just summed up our season. Roll on 2005.

Look at it this way: A come from behind win against Carlton may have left us thinking a lot of the work had already been done to improve our Club for next season.

But in reality, our season has finished as disappointingly as it started, with a loss in a game we would have easily won if we were a premiership contender.

Hopefully this loss will keep the pressure on the Club and the football department to make the hard decisions in the draft and pre-season.

And keep the pressure on by the supporters who demand sustained success at this Club.

Lets remember this season for what it was... a major disappointment missing the finals after two consecutive Grand Finals. And a season that left all associated with Collingwood with a determination to demand better in 2005.

Good point, stoliboy.

This game will ensure that the hard decisions will be made instead of us thinking we are on the right path with our playing list which is obviously not true.

Still it was CARLTON we lost to.
In football there is no shade of grey.
