The bad news is no Kinnear, that means he may not be playing his last game.

has a year to go on his contract, BK will be in the Williamstown team in 2005 unless traded. What a deal, play below standard football and get paid top rates. This guy has beat the system all to easily.

Blues are spruking so the more they crow the better the win will be if we win. :P

If Steve McKee and Andrew Williams can get games to say "goodbye", then why not Benny? MM said in an interview on the club website that he hates this time of year, when he has to delist players, but made the very pertinent comment that we don't "get rid" of players; there's a lot of respect for his players behind that comment and it behoves us to follow suit. None of us would like it very much if our boss could just call us into his/her office one day and said, "Sorry mate, but that's it, you're finished here". Let people go with their dignity intact.

Turning to the big game:

Memories of that final term collapse in round 7 are still fresh in my mind. We had them on the ropes and let them fly home. It was one of the most miserable times of my life sitting behind the Punt Road goals listening to their supporters.

So, this is pay-back time.

The key to controlling Carlton is stopping Fevola. When he plays well and kicks goals, Carlton win; when he is held, he throws a hissy fit equal to any Richo turns on and might as well not even be playing. I can see Jimmy getting this match-up first, as Fevola likes to lead out into space, so we'll need someone who can go with him. However, I have an inkling Walker might be better suited to Fevola's physical style; Tex won't be intimidated and if he can frustrate Fevola, we are well on the way.

Down the other end, it is time for Tarrant to play as we all know he can. This has been a miserable year from him and if Taz really thinks he's a gun forward, this is the time to show it. He has kicked just 31 goals for the year compared to Fevola's 63 and it makes a huge difference to the midfielders, knowing there's a bloke down the pointy end who can kick a goal from their hard won ball. On this year's showing, Fevola is a full forward, Taz is a bit player. Livingston has been playing well for Carlton, having beaten Lloyd and Neitz recently, although Neitz was clearly hampered by injury. Still, Livingston will be keen to show he is developing into a key defender and this could be a matchup to travel a long way to see.

The midfield battle will be interesting as well. Stevens and Camporeale are playing well and have been driving the Blues all year. These are the two players most capable of breaking the game open for them and will have to be kept quiet. To maximise our own drive, I would like to see Bucks play in the middle along with Leon and Johnno, with tougher bodies like Licca, Burns and Dutch thrown in there to show the Carlton midfield that there will be no easy possessions this week.

In round 7, we were missing Fraser and Burns, and Bucks went off with a hammy in his first game back after missing three, but we will have all three for the return game, and fighting fit. These guys have been three of the keys to our performances in the big games of the last three years and I think they will make a big difference. Carlton will be revved up for this clash of traditional rivals, especially after crushing Melbourne's finals expectations last week, but I think Collingwood will be too keen to put in the effort to deliver some consolation to their long-suffering supporters to let this one slip.

A tough game, it could be very, very close but, in the end, I think we'll run out winners by 18 points.

BK will play his goobye game for Williamstown. He has played more games for Willi, than the Pies...so his club is Williamstown.

Sure, Davies kicked 3, all in the last quarter as they stormed home, however, Fevola kicked 6, the last being the goal which put them in front and the previous five were all that kept Carlton in the game to 3/4 time (5 out of a total of 7 to that point). Don't get carried away by a cameo effort (after all, Leon kicked 4 in that game, too!). The man who kept them in the game was Fevola.

I've said it so many times - The key to Carlton winning is Fevola. If he kicks a bag, they are a chance to win, if we stop him, we will win comfortably. We have way too much talent to lose this one. I say we put on a show tonight and go out with a bang. I'm not expecting anything less.

No doubt we have the talent daks, but we have never really had that talent on the field at the same time. Our backline has been magnificent all year, usually undermanned, fighting hard against the odds and taller opponents. Any players pushed back there have responded well to Clements' leadership, Maxwell, Cole, Walker. They can hold Carlton to a respectable score. It has been our forward structure that has suffered the most as there seems to be no plan B to cover the loss of Taz or Rocca. Certainly the further loss of C2, Richards and Davidson has complicated the set up even more. Because of this lack of size up forward most teams have targeted our midfield ie lack of height (tall marking forward) = precise passing (to small leading target), therefore increase pressure = hurried kicking = turnover. We will be competitve but will not be able to kick enough goals to win.

BK can skipper the Williamstown side next season. He probably won't get another senior oppotunity.
