Round 20 vs Box Hill

Post by Dale61 »

The Seagull's play for pride this week when they clash with Box Hill at the Box Hill City Oval. Any faint hope that the Seagulls had of competing in the finals was extinguished with the 8 point loss suffered to Werribee on the weekend.

Williamstown beat Box Hill during their round 2 clash at Burbank Oval and will be striving to cause an upset to finish the season on a high.

The reserves suffered a 26 point defeat to Werribee, dropping the side to fifth on the ladder. Although a certainty to finish in the finals (reserves competition use the final 5 system) the double chance may now be out of reach. The reserves are likely to play Werribee or North Ballarat in the Elimination Final.

Thanx for the pix Dale. Last year we used to get the game of the week on Fox Footy up here so I got to see quite a bit of Willi play. For some reason this year we don't get any VFL games. Its a shame as I love to watch the "rest" of the boys play in what is not too bad a competition. At least with your pix I can get to see some of the action.

Well labrooy, these are the last for the year, so hope you have enjoyed what I've posted this season.

Although the reserves play next week in the Elimination final, I'm not much of a morning person, and it may be too much to ask of the crippled body to gets it's s**t together early enough to go to the game, especially if the senior game is the ABC-TV game.

Thanks for the great pics all season Dale! Not the best season by the Gulls but some promising signs have come out of it. Just a few questions, how did Benson and Mullin go?

I didn't get there until mid way through the third quarter of the reserves, and by the time I found the best place to sit, it was well into the last quarter.

Mullins didn't play (has a foot injury) and Georgie was amongst the best (which you would have seen if you read the match results).

How did Zane go Dale? I thought they would try to sneak him in for a game before the end of the year but he hasn't managed to get into the bests since being promoted to the 1's. Is he an outside chance at all this week against the Blues, and if not him anyone else?
Thanks mate.

Dale,

Just want to take this opportunity to thank you for the enourmous effort and excellent work that you put into the site. Hugely appreciated by myself and I am sure all Magpie/Seagull supporters in far flung places.

Hope to see your work again next year.
