It amazes me that even on last night's footy show, there was still the talk that Collingwood were "so under strength". Apart from Rocca, C2 & Richards, we were basically at full strength. Admittedly, our 3 biggest players. But still, we can't keep using the injury line. Look at Port's injuries.

And don't forget Presti as well, late withdrawal.

It was pretty obvious that MM was just experimenting with some of the matchups, particularly Burns in the forward line.

...and Maxwell has become a pretty important tall as well...

So that makes 6 talls out, and Taz and Josh kick 1.8 between them.
Game over.

From these last couple of games players must be tested and if they cant perform, get rid of them, and build the list back up again... from tonites game a few players are running out of time to perform.. and are close to the axe....

A.Williams
J.Cloke
R.Shaw
D.King

... I think the pies wouldnt be hurt at all if those players were cut.... So at the end of the season, these 4 players need to be seriously looked at, along with Nixon, Mullins & Kinnear, who have probably all played theyre last games for the pies...

Players who are close, but have proved a bit lately, McGough, Obree, Rowe and Lonie, should all be pretty safe at the end of the year...

So out of those 7 players....

Williams
J.Cloke
R.Shaw
D.King
Nixon
Mullins
Kinnear

5-7 of them should be gone, to make room for trading or draft picks...

cheers..

it looked like mick did'nt want to win to me as he did not make any changes in the middle of the ground. Not once did buckley burns woey and tarks start in the square.Obviously mick had a game plan but it did'nt work which he looked pissed off about, port at times looked like they were doing a training drill. I thought we were pathetic at times, if mick wants to try some things play the guys on our list who have'nt played seniors yet if we are going to play like that i would rather play guys who have't played yet and see how they will go.

I was dissapointed in the following players
obree, shaw, cloke leon, taz seemed frustrated tonight.

best woey, fraser, buckley(cornes showed no respect by playing off him)

Did any one else think williams has put on a few kilos don't no if it is muscle though.

The difference tonight was simply the skill level between the two teams. The amount of times we just blazed into the forward 50 without even looking like hitting a target is quite amazing. We played good footy for about 20 minutes in the first quarter and that was about it. A disappointing effort tonight.

Lets hope we come out next Friday Night and finish on a high with a win over the scum. Would hate to lose that and destroy all the momentum that we have slowly built over the last 11 weeks.

The last 2 weeks have really shown that the current Pies are not a top 10 team in the AFl and truly deserve their spot on the ladder.

Until we improve off the field the on field performances will still be less than what is required to play in the finals.

All the off field coaching and preparation needs a big overhaul and I won't dare mention conditioning again as it is too blatantly obvious that we are light years behind the top teams and still falling.

We need to learn from the conditioning in the Premier league soccer (UK) and the strength traning from the NRL (USA) and apply those to our players and benefit from their years and millions of dollars or learning how to get it right.

Our playing roster can always be improved but we have a good list and we should trade the top 2 drafts as we get C3 with the third rounder.

Until we get the right training regimes in place we can have a great list playing at less than their potential.

We have 6 months to do it better than this year.

I think the players are already on their end of season trip. Totally embarrassing performance. Port should have won by closer to 80 - 100 points had they not been so arrogant. They toyed with us in periods.

However this will help ensure a decent early draft pick.

our third worst performance this year after
1. Round 4 versus Freo
2. Round 1 versus Richmond
3. Tonight

Maybe Port bored us out of the game?

And MM you are not going to get a draft pick for Williams so give up and give shack or mullins a run.

We were very ordinary tonight and just made to many mistakes. We got smoked in the midfield without Bux, Woey and Burns starting in the middle and that made sure Tredrea got plenty of oppurtunities.

I've got know idea why MM would bring Williams back into the side when you've got guys like Crow and Shack going around in the 2's. MCG and Shaw simply make to many skill errors for league footballers.

I think tonight was the worst as the opposition toyed with us. Considering that Port has only beaten Hawhtorn at the G in the past two years tonight was humiliating.
